Complete History of Fighting Dogs by Mike Homan??

Does anyone know where I can buy a CHEAP copy of The Complete History of Fighting Dogs, by Mike Homan? I got no luck finding anything under $100... still way too high a price!
Also is it as good a book as I hear?? I'm more interested in baiting and animal fight accounts than dogfights. How is it compared to the Dieter Fleig book

Possibly a dumb question, but ... why is this book so great? I mean, I get that it's out of print and everything, so the price is higher ... but as far as content ... why?

 

well the name kinda says it all. unless you don't really care what made these dogs what they are today.

 

Okay ... got that. But there are about a dozen books out there about the same thing, not to mention the hundreds upon hundreds of websites.

I was asking if there was something special that set this particular book apart ... non smart-ass answers appreciated

 

The only other book similar to that I can think of is the Dieter Fleig Book, the History of Fighting Dogs. It's about the old war dogs, lion- bear- bull- and badger- baiting, fights with possums, etc. etc. and dogfighting. Lots of really great, old historical photos of bull dogs and the old mastiffs, stories and accounts of animal vs. dog fights. It's a great historical tool.
Though I wouldn't pay that much for ANY book, even one as good as that, which is why I was asking.....

I have a book lying around here somewhere that I borrowed from a friend ... it's about the history of dogfighting and bullbaiting and such and has a few pics (mostly drawings, obviously) ... I'm sure it wasn't a $100 + purchase though. Or I hope not, atleast ... as I'm pretty sure Duckee took a chunk out of it a while back ... hmm.

I'll have to dig that thing out and see who the author was .....

Nope. That's a different book written by Dr. Fleig
