All you folks with the crate problems, get a dog box. They are made of metal and the dog wont break it!! When they are loose in the house unattended, they have the ability to hear something outside and bust through the window, or break down the door to get at it. I have had one to break a door down, a little 38#dog, so you can heed what I am telling you, or..I hope it dont happen to you. One of the worst kennel accidents I had at my place was from that little bitch getting loose from the crate and breaking down the back door. When it was all over with, all of the yard, but one pup were gone, and that one ended up dieing. So do what you will, you have been warned. What if the dog gets after the postman? Too much not to be cautious.

I have had dogs go through both windows and doors going from inside to outside and from outside to inside. Also had one go through the wall.

My friend had a problem with the plastic crates. Her dog chewed right through it. So watch out :) lol

  5. In the house, both get well with each other( Packorder). However if I leave I separate them, the bigger one can run in the whole house the smaller one is in the room from my older son. I think chains are a good thing if you own more than 5 dogs or if you are a breeder. I never would put my dogs in a cage....what could they do if a intruder comes in or if a fire breaks out? My dogs are very quiet in the house...if another dog barks on the street Spike looks up...growls a little and then he sleeps on.Outside my dogs are very active, in fact they would hunt anything include dinosaur but inside they are very lazy and lay back...they sleep the whole day.

My Cur dogs have the run of the yards...and soon to be farm. They rather be outside than inside that's for sure! (And break windows and doors to get out) Had to look my Tiger Lily up in doors when she was very sick and weak and she'd still try to get out any given time. Basically it was torture for her.

When I leave they are out in a LOCKED kennel. I have 2 chain spots for them to run around on but only when I'm home.

I hope you have a roof for those kennels. You wouldnt want to come home to a dog that hung itself.

I had the same problem with Patron. He went through 1 airline crate and 2 metal ones. We tried damn near everything to secure him in there.
I finally bought him one of these

He has been using it for almost a year and hasn't gotten out yet. He has put a few minor bends in a couple of the bars, but nothing bad.

Our Husky girl has free run of the house at all times as she is very mellow. The other two are crated when we are not home. When both the wife and I are home I usually take one of the Bullies out for some exercise while she has the other one with her in the house and vice versa. If both Bullies are home we have to crate and rotate.

chain for me or she stays in our wash room. my dog is quite mellow and has been used to the chain from very young so doesnt get stressed at all. I try not to leave her alone for very long, 5 hours max.

I have had dogs in the past that have been near impossible to contain, pits a real escape artists as you all know. houdini has nothing on an apbt.

My bitch gets free raine of the house, the boys get kenneled in seperate rooms when not home. All three share the house when we are home, if we leave a room atleast one male comes with us at all times...mostly both come together as a package deal. When they have had enough of each other then the gates get closed and each gets thier own space in seperate parts of the house.

When we lived on the farm our dogs were kenneled, chained, couple house dogs and one guarding the chicken coops.

I keep them on cable runs and kennels . Sometimes , i use chain set-ups , but it's rather hard for me that way cause my yards isn't all that flat , so it's better for me and them this way i guess .
