The most simple answer I can give you is if you can call someone up and get a dog from them no questions asked thay are most likely not the type of breeder you should get youre dog from. Most true dogmen will not let a dog out to anyone unless thay have established a relationship with the person who wants one of there dogs

First off, if you want a true APBT ,take time ,be patient ,Know what you want in your dog as far as temperment, drive, ETC, and look for someone that has been doing it awhile, has good bloodlines that can be trusted like jeep, redboy, tant, wildside, chinaman, sorrels, nigerino, hammonds, snooty, etc, etc, and furthermore someone who really takes care of there yard and cares about there breed!

It might take a while and you might have to go to a couple or a few breeders to find excactly what your looking for but it's out there!

There are several great breeders on here as I've seen from discussions I've read and many great dogs as well!

    Good luck on your quest!

Thank's for all the help. I'm not rushing in to getting a dog. I'm trying to find a good brood bitch to start out with. With a good blood line, from a good name breeder. Pit Bull are my first love. I'm trying to start out with a good all a round bitch.

If you are looking for a puppy it will be a good 3 years before you will know if she is quality enuff to be a brood bitch. Nomader how the dog is bread. do youre reserch be patient and get a dog from a good breeder, someone willing to take you under there wing. Get a puppy from them and you will be suprised what you will learn in those three years. MAYBEE then you will be ready to breed dogs.

Oh, Sorry I have been around bull terrier. As a trainer, handler, etc. I have in the past worked for Akc handler. And now starting to do my own thing.

    Thank's for all the help,

    Shawn

Many times you can speak to a breeder and let them know that you are looking for a brood bitch, and they will sell you one. It will cost alittle more, but you are assured(if they are reputable) that you are getting one that is worthy of being bred. Otherwise, like the man said, you just buy for pedigree, and spend $1000 for the bitch, and the dog doesnt turn out to be the best specimen of a bulldog, are you gona breed her, or cull her? If you are not willing to look at the dog honestly without partiality, no matter how much you love the dog, you shouldnt even get started with these. It would be better for you to stay in the AM STAFF akc stuff your used to, as you would be a part of the downbreeding of the greatest dog in all the world!

I'm not just into trying to breed dogs. If that was what I wanted to do, I would not be here, on this site. I'm trying to go back to the true Pit Bull type of dog and not the akc bull sh't. A dog that can do what he was bred to do. I'm trying to get started, just like you guy's did back in the days. I do listen to what people tell me and heed their advise!

    Thank's for your help.

If that be the case, you would be heads and tails ahead , time and money, by purchasing a proven brood bitch off a reputable yard.

I talked to Mr. Patricks a bit on the phone when I was younger and he was always really cool with me. I would have to say that if you bought a good brood female from him to get your yard start you'd be doing the right thing.
I love the Patrick dogs as well as anything along the Eli and Carver line of dogs. And crossing the Patrick with the Eli and Carver stuff works AWESOME. That is bascially what the Boyles stuff is.
