I have a long figerglass rod used for marking land for surveying. took some bailing cord tied it on the end and tied a knotted up rag on the other and let them chase and try to grab that and when they do catch it the war is on. I also get them those big horse balls with the handle on it fill them with water and let them beat the water out of them. Then fill em up again. They get exercise also when we go out into the field and run down game. Last time was a young deer. Good dinner for us all. That is my favorite thing to do is kill things. Bear are fun. Par boil it then grill it over coals good stuff. They will get on the occasional bobcat or cougar. They give one hell of a work out. I hate cats. Especially big ones. Every now and then a goat or sheep gets out and they get to retreive it. Or a chicken. Lots of chickens get out. They don't retrieve much of the chickens. lol. More like a running meal. Like the vidios. You don't spoil Lilbit any do you?

All time favorite thing to do="zones out" to fetching a stick, no matter if the best cut of filet is sitting in front of her. she waits by the door EVERY night, and I can't get out of my work clothes fast enough! (seriously)!:D (45 minutes of this every night.....).....

Dante can hardly contain himself when I walk into the backyard because he knows its playtime. I have to be careful because he rips around the yard so fast he doesn't have time to navigate, and he knocked my husband's leg out from under him once when he stepped into Dante's path (I got cussed for that one due to my snickering). He chases tennis balls so hard he frequently loses his footing when he drops to snag them and slides several feet in all kinds of hilarious positions: one leg under, on side, on left shoulder, on right shoulder, etc... but he never skips a beat and just keeps ripping around. He loves it when I tap on top of the privacy fence- he backs up and runs full throttle at the fence, leaping about 3 or 4 feet before he gets to it, hitting the fence on all fours about 5 feet up or so, and either tries to run sideways (which he can do) or just pushes off with a funny twist. We renail the panels of the fence often. :p

If waiting by the door is what it took to get a pretty lady undressed I would be that way too. lol ;)

That's her way of dominating everything around her...just FYI I'd step in and bring her down a notch before you get into trouble with her- I used to crack the lunge whip (for horses) right behind my senior girl when she would do it- never touched her with it but it got the point across. ;)

My dog loves to play with his soccer ball. He acts live a goal keeper. He loves to block the ball from getting to the fence when I kick it. The only thing is that I must replace the balls very, very, very, very, very, very often. What balls are out there that I can kick (without hurting myself) and that are very durable? Thanks.

My girls love chasing each other around the yard. They love playing with the springpole, tug of war with me or with each other, they love fetching sticks and balls as well. I've got a 4 foot high wood box outside the back door, the other day Diamond started leaping up onto it.....now we play a game where I have her jump up, jump down, back up, and so on. lol But their favorite thing is the flirt pole. I can't get near the garage without them gettin all hyper cuz they know that's where I keep it. And if I grab a leash on the back porch (or even accidentally brush up against one and it makes a sound) they go nuts cuz they absolutely love going for walks.

I was thinking when I started reading that that you must go through alot of balls! lol You should try a indestructaball. My foster Deeohgee was bloody OBSESSED with this thing!

It depends on what the dogs like to do as far as how I play with them. The games vary as I have different dogs coming and going all the time. These are some of the things we like to do around here....

fetch {I have about ten kongs lying around the yard and once they catch one, I just pick up another get them interested and throw that one and keep repeating the process so they are on the move the whole time. If some dogs need to learn some manners, we will work on the "leave it" command during fetch as it's high stimulation and a good time to teach them some self control but it's much funner to run them ragged! lol

I just let mine loose outside and watch them go round and round until they are laying down panting which usually takes about an hour, then I play a little tug with them. They're inside going at it right now as I type but when it gets too loud constantly, one goes out and one stays in.

Both of my dogs like to play tug, but they have to play with Mark because they've been taught to never pull me because of my lack of balance.

Petey is a ball dog. You can't even spell it my house without him going nuts. We have to call it an orb or rombus now. He'll play for hours at a time.

Birdie loves to chase Petey when he runs after the ball, she doesn't want the ball, she just runs around with some other toy in her mouth. She loves to race around the yard like a lunatic.

I took her to a client's house who has retired racing greyhounds and a few italian greyhounds, so he literally has a track around his yard that he puts stone dust down on. Birdie was racing around and keeping pace with the italian greyhounds, which was the funniest damn thing I have seen in a long time. She had a blast and the Iggy's were like, "What the HELL!"

me and my mutt like to wrestle and attack eachother, he also love the springpole, flirtpole, and don't even think about saying walk he goes crazy and runs to the garage and grabs the leash from the wall. He pretty much will chase anything i throw so basically my dog likes to play everything as long as he's running non-stop.

i do different things with different dogs. this male absolutely LOVES his tire, you pretty much have to take a break stick to him to get him off of it. He would hang on it all day if i let him!! lol he is also my acrobatic dog, when i bring him in he plays with a rope toy, but has to be watched, he liked to tear shit apart then eat it ;)

This is the house dog, besides zooming around the house at full speed, and a little tug of war/rope toy play, thats it.
