Raccoons use those little rat hands to hold onto the dog's face and smother him. Bulldogs weren't made to fight under water or they would have put gills on them.

I bet a shark in the water might have his way with any of our dogs too :rolleyes:

HAHA actually I have seen that. But thats a tiny shark who's already hooked on a line.

 

hooked or not that shark could still do some damage

i wish we had some coons here in Europe, we only have rats, rabbits and housecats lol

we aint allowed to hunt hogs with dogs here

 

I have put my pup on all kinds of critters. I have a live trap I set out by my house to catch them.

The first time I put her on a opossum it was funny. She was so jacked w/ adreneline. I turned the opossum loose. It took off running, then I let her go behind it. Right before she got it it flopped over like it was asleep. She came up on it and crushed it. I was very disappointed. The thing didn't fight at all.

I have put her on four opossums total. Every one has just laid there and let her kill it. - Racoons are a different story though. Am I allowed to post video here showing it? It is fun to watch!

 

You are an idiot if you think thats cool.

Its one thing to set your dog on them because you wouldn't be able to catch these critters bare handed. But if you've got them caged already just use an airgun or .22LR to dispatch them. Have some respect for whatever game you hunt.

What was said earlier is on point. If the dog has no hesitation it is over in short order for the coon.

As far as the swimming thing goes, that is correct. Have seen it and was lucky to be able to have a clear shot on the coon or it may have cost me a good one.

i was helping my partner and went to feed one day and frispie was as happy as a puppy in a hubcap factory i found out why.he had a coon lying in his chain spot and he must have been chewing on the fucker all night cause the damn coon looked like he was ran over by a mack truck. the dog was chewed up a bit on his ears n muzzle but nothing to worry about. had him vet checked n good to go. http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/public/printPedigree.php?dog_id=107083

 

I've found that if you want to coon hunt, Patterdales are THE dogs for that. They are some nasty lil' bastards!

was this guy hunting snakes with his dog too lol.. i think he was not hunting at all.. more like baiting them and making his dog fight them. im talking bout hunting.. but yeah dog Vs coon doesnt sound like hunting, should be , gotta watch how u put it too these days lol

 

I hunt with patterdales & you should see a 10-15 lb dog tangle with a 20-30 lb coon in a brushpile or underground den. They take lots of damage but these little dogs are game. Sometimes staying in a hole with a coon for hours. Over in Europe they use them on badgers.
