I need suggestions for food for 2 pits.. one female is 9 months (55 lbs) and the other is a male 3-1/2 months (19 lbs). We switched to diamond because we thought it would be better than eukanuba and i guess i was told i was wrong. I don't care about cost but I don't have time to cook food everyday so if it's some sort of human food I can't do that. preferably something I can buy at a store that I Can just put in their bowl..

    thanks,
    dustin

you have to go by the ingredients on the bag and see which one has what you want in it. i use NUTRO ULTRA for my pups and it seems to be working for me. just do some research and learn about different brands. there's different foods for different dogs.

well, i want the food to be a good weight gainer for them. I don't want to use any weight gainer suplements like criatine or whatever. just want them to have good food and work them out whenever i can.

just read up on some stuff, there's even some stuff in the health forum that tells you some things. that's what i did and i also ask questions on here, what works for me doesn't mean it will work for you. how much weight are you trying to put on your dog?is it skinny or something?

I use feed with 20 percent fat. Exceed chicken and rice formula is great. Way less clean up too. I've had some grown dogs on 1 cup a day now for several months and they don't even show a rib. Just look for something high in fat.

Innova, Martin's K9, Chicken Soup, Canidae, Natural Balance are some you might look into.

okay, so why are all of these better than Diamond?

I tried diamond for a while and OMG! there was crap everywhere I'm never using that stuff again. I'm sure others have had good results with that stuff but man I'd have to clean up 3 times a day and with a 30+ dog yard that's not fun! I'm used to cleaning once a day. LoL

Better ingredient, no corn, no beet pulp etc. If you would compare the ingredients you would be able too plainly see the difference. What makes you think Diamond is a quality food?<O:p</O:p

I'm not sure what type of dog food is best, but I damn sure know that a raw diet has been the best for me. For some reason my dog couldn't handle her dog food. She had soo much crap everywhere it became a chore to clean up. Now that she's on a raw diet, there is less crap to clean up and what little she does eventually turns white and then to dust, so I don't even have to clean up. lol Easy enough for me. And she's doing really well on this diet.

  14. Has anyone used the innova evo? If so what are the reactions toward it?

Black Gold here, but I just read this post through, and I am gona check into the Exceed chicken and rice. If one cup a day keeps the dog up, I might switch!! It really wouldnt make any difference if I had a couple, but with 13 it does, to my pocket book anyhow!!LOL

  16. I've had good luck with "Nature's Recipe". Both of my dogs have terrible allergies. I've tried Canindae, Chicken Soup, and Dick Van Patten's with no luck. They sell this stuff at Petsmart - http://www.naturesrecipe.com

Science Diet or Iams/Euk 2nd. Next to nothing to clean and perfect stool. Shiny coats and better all around looking dogs.

i have been evo for sometime, its as close as you get to feeding raw! my dogs health is the best it has ever been. my vet did blood work and he said everything was great, he also said her organs were very strong! myself i have noticed her teeth are very white, no bad breath, her coat is very dark and sinny, no eye boogers and she has very little waste in the yard! I have alos noticed her energy level has gone up to! i have nothing but praise for evo! i switch up the formulas to give her different sources of protein! i ws feeding timber wolf but it was too rich or something because it was running through her. i als like evo because its grain free!
