Okay okay, there has been lots of good and serious talk here, but tomorrow is my birthday and I have given myself the slack to be a tad silly and rhetorical.

There was a thread a few weeks ago about some guy who got his dogs taken away. Sad story, but judging from the meat of the article he was a goofamuffin. He said he was trying to breed a "mini pit".

This got my creative juices flowing, and I wondered: what in the world would you start with?

Okay- please don't insult my intelligence with a million reasons why this should not be done- I'm not saying it should be, but it is amuseing to think about. Just havin a little fun with this (my birthday- remember...:))

So what do you guys think the foundation of a mini pit-type dog would be?
My thought was to start with combos of, then breed down from:

    Boston Terrier (muscle and bull-type)
Jack Russel Terrier (agility and lean muscle type, terrier tendencies)
Min Pin (short coat, mini body frame)

Again, no need to flame me or tell me what a stupid idea this is- I'm NOT attempting such a ridiculous feat. No need for schooling here. Just for the sake of discussion with a little forbidden fun, what would create a mini pit?

The prospect to me is slap hilarious. :p

Loose the Min Pin, they are too snippy. Maybe add a nice rat terrier, think I'm kidding check out some on the net, try RatPack, I figure you'd have to crop their ears until you could breed in some good ear carriage, and do away with the prick ears, LOL! Of course you could do it the right way, use a small bitch pit, and bred a small game terrier, cull judiciously, and see what you get. PM me if you want to see what I have to work with. Mouser

I think you could selective breeding like the smallest bulldogs to the smallest bulldog or

you could breed a small game bred bulldog with a patterdale terrier and go from there. I figure patterdale because they seem to be fearless and have alot of heart just like bulldogs ;) JMO

  4. give me a few days and i,ll do some photo shop work and show ya what I come up with this sounds fun.

Ed mullins already has the smallest gamebred dog in history weighing in at 9.5 lbs i belive and alot of his stuff runs on the smaller side. Not my style since its basiclly to small to work, but would be a cool little dog.

NO the Patterdale APBT mix is a proven failure to me...I never seen a worse mix of dog breeds......it kills any gameness for some reason...I have seen it to many times...no hint of patterdale or APBT in the offspring...Ive been to many Terrier working kennels where they have several different breeds of terrier and also of course too many accidental terrier mixes...no good ...try something like a cross to a genetically similar breed...Ive sat here thinking about one but I cant find one I like Genetically to make consistent Mini APBTS with the right look and body and attitude...MY brain wont allow it .....it shuts down when I cross the forbidden line...but try a small hunting breed.

I really think it would be impossble to do it right or consistently without having throw back rejected ones......APBTS already range from low 20s to 60+lbs on a regular basis...so my brain keeps going back to a real small game bred bitch to a game male thats real small too..

Could you imagine taking it to your friends house and letting it run wild with like labs and other normal people dogs and laugh when it turns them away...lol...it would be funny to watch a 9.5lb dog cur out a 50lb dog that was never expecting that kind of thing ...lmao...is there any pics of one that small...

where can you find Ed mullins dogs on the net. ive always wanted a smaller game bred dog. 20lbs to 28lbs would i deal i think.

  14. I want one 20 pound apbt so I can pull with him. I was at a APA weight pull and they had this little 20 pound dog that pulled 92 times his body weight made body pound on the 50 and under. I just that was awsome.

The guy that has chevy Red owns a 20 pound dog that he has been training and that is the best little pulling dog that I have ever seen i think its going to be the next xx a/a

  15. Maybe throw some Jagdterrier in the mix, i've heard of those little Mofo's hanging off Boars, which seems suicidal, such a tiny catch dog.
But i've also heard of them taking on much more vicious and capable game, like Cougars, not sure how true, but i have heard it

Forget about the Jagd, most of them have the wrong temperment, kind of aloof, like dust in the wind. Mouser

You know its a little off topic but I have sometimes wondered what youd get mixing something super game to a African wild dog...

Their all wind...they can run for like a day straight...if done properly I sometimes think about a wild animal and gameness being preserved with APBT genes...hey these dogs have to be somewhat game to live in Africa and fight with Hyenas and Lions...I wonder what youd get...a sissy that can run allday or a dog thatll not only go hard...all day.... but eat its opponent because its just that hungry....and wild...lmao...

ok ill play the mini game how about a Beagle...and not no sissy one...one that hunts foxes and stuff...that should give you small size...
