no knowledge of? Then why do u keep feeling the need to argue ur point with me?

If I'm so clueless and a fool surely I'm not worth arguing with? Fact is I'm not prepared to swallow ur history of the pitbull and iv made a decent arguement against it based history, not hearsay. This has annoyed u and ur gna keep goin but when it doesn't suit u the insults come out, for a man with as much experience as u appear to have I'd have thought ur level of maturity wudv bn above name calling.

Theyre not game FIGHTING dogs just like a marathon runner will run till he drops and in extreme cases dies or a triatholon contestant might die trying it dont mean hed take his death in a fist fight but each in his own way would be game , simply different types of gameness but as a fighter only one is game can you understand what im telling you

Ive seen this debate, a lot of times, the problem is theres no written proof either way. Dont know why the word terrier was put into the name but it doesnt really make any difference now, we have what we have and all we can do is concerntrate on that. Interesting topic though.
    Cheers Dan.

There were alway's seperate fighting strain'sof bulldog's alongside the baiting dog's. And they were known as Lord Orford used these small game fighting bulldog's to cross into his greyhound's to get the foundation of the modern coursing greyhound's.

How the hell can i prove it? Theres too much variation in size and pitbulls outhere that a terrier looking for it not to be true, theres no certain proof either way.

Useing your logic a sheepdog is a gamedog.

Wheres the facts that two seperate strains were kept for baiting or fighting who told you this and as for the nonsense about Lord Orford the same thing as been done in modern times by crossing pitbulls to greyhounds to obtain a lurcher but after two hundred years any bulldog/pitbull blood in todays greyhound would be non existent , stop reading silly books written by people who never owned or probaly saw a bulldog/pitbull but whos writings today are taken as facts

A sheep is hardly a worthy opponent for a dog, the sheep dog is not having to face serious harm to do what they do.

Hi just wanted to add me two penneth worth.
You keep saying why would you add none game blood from a terrier to a bulldog? Anyone who has ever owned a terrier knows that all terriers are extremly game. All people also know that the apbt came from staffords which were created by crossing bull dogs and terriers the original fighting dogs from England so get off your high horse and just accept the the great and it is great apbt is a direct decendant of the bull & terrier from the good old Great British Empire. Enough said.
    Peace out

Lord Orford wrote with his own hand when and why he crossed the bulldog into his greyhounds. As did many of the sporting gentry of the day write their veiws in private journal's. Do some proper historical research and you might find out some interesting thing's written on the dogs. Many old publications and newspapers gave results of match's and the bait's and in some cases would say if the dogs were from a particular strain and what that strain was noted for doing.

    Ok tommy1985, me too,
We all know the apbt is a great hound I don't know why some people who run them have to try to deny thier heritage. What dogs do you have?

    Cheers red barron...
