Mine are pvc as well, black and with a drain plug. not metal. However the metal ones of that size have a drain too. I just don't like dealing with the folds and rust issues. That galvanizing doesn't last forever and I have worked with galvanized metal. it is a toxic substance and I just don't trust it as the animals do drink that water sometimes.

MY alternative solution (i hope). i just ordered a small above ground pool for my girl with leg problems. it is about 7.5 feet by 5 feet and 2.2 feet deep. i got her a life vest so she isnt paddling like crazy and can swim at a nice pace for a longer time. i am gunna have hubby make a bungie device to attach to the vest from both sides of the pool so she can swim and have some wiggle room but not much and of course i will closely supervise--kinda like a poor mans endless pool. lol. this one was one hundred plus 50 pics for the filter. a filter is nice because it wont get yucky as quick! i will prob try my boy (the one that doesnt hate water) in it as well.

well that makes a little more sense ... from what i could tell that wash tub dude was talking about just didnt seem like it would cut the mustard ... also rigging up something to hook a harness too made the whole thing come together in my mind .... thanx for being such a reputable member attila i guess that gives you the power to explain things properly or maybe im just crazy .... who knows....

I am just a member. Older and have been in the breed for a great many years, but joined just like you on this site. In time, all in time my brother. I don't think there is anything special about me or anything less special about others. I hope that makes you feel better.

going with the larger tank makes it a whole lot easier and more effective. Plus you can use the tanks for many more things too. Dipping, bathing, filling with ice, beer and cokes. even fill it with water and sit it on the deck and catch a nap in it on a hot day. lol I have a smaller one I used for the sheep before I got rid of them. Oh and I also use it for welping pups. Easy to clean and sanitize. pups can't get out and wander all over the house pooping and peeing. They are great. I think I paid $49 for the big one and $32 for the smaller one. I think the smaller is a 110 gallon one. It was too small for the swimming as the dogs could get a paw up on the side and touch bottom. They stop then. It is a good way to water the lawn. lol

I just thought it was funny that I explained how it would work like a treadmill and went into details for you, but you didn't get it until someone more familiar came along. I wasn't starting crap. Well, then again I was having my own laugh at you, so maybe you could consider that starting crap, it was all in fun for me(still is). Sorry you're so sensitive!

I like the life vest idea, it only makes sense too.

ill keep you all posted in the next few weeks when the pool arrives and we get the set up as to weather my hair brained scheme works or not! hoping to do some video. will be great for my girls leg and i think just great conditioning with that vest so they can keep a nice long pace.

thin skin what can i say .... i guess i let my emotions get the best of me... i was all broken up about it i mean its not every day someone on the internet starts crap with me my god i just really wish we could all get along it breaks my fragile little heart when someone cant explain them selves or what they are talking about, seems to happen all the time.... now i guess ill quit being such a smart ass and tell you in my opinion where you went wrong in explaining the whole process to me

first IMO your tank was way too small that was your first problem

second... you never once mentioned using a harness rigg so the entire time im picturing this dog in the wash tub all flayling around trying to get out...

and then this reputable members decided to help you out and BOOM i jumped on the band wagon ...funny how that worked out really seems to me you wanted me to get your point and when i did you jumped my shit ... was it because you couldnt properly explain it .... or are you just that type of person either way i really could care less im glad your a good dog owner and as far as im concerned were both wasting time doing anything except trying to help each other out..... witch is (if you dont remember) exsactly what i was trying to do....

ps.. ive got a 400gall tank if your interested cause i think that might work out a little better for ya.... just a suggestion

well it snowed the other day but it melted as of today... thank god and the warmer weather is still about a week or so away... maybe longer i just cant wait till i can walk around in a tee and some shorts man im sick of this winter crap but there seems to be some good weather in sight so i guess thank god for that .... then again i could live in AZ and not have to worry to much about scraping windows, shovling 3 or more feet of snow, defrosting windows on cars, praying my rods dont snap when i start my car on a -18 below morning , you know the typical michigan crap but it comes with the territory .... and again good weather is coming ....
