working staffordshire bull terriers

Now most bulldogs are mached into bulldogs and not other breeds.So why is it always talk of staffords into bulldogs and how they don't compare.It always seems to be more about proving that nothing can run with the great APBT.Iam sure there must be groups hunting staffs into staffs ,and are happy with what they have.Hypotheticly speaking or pre 1976 of course.

 

I was not there, you where, so it would be stupid to argue with you. But a lot of the breeding program started when the Staffs came to the UK, or to Europe. From my personal experience, I am on the contrary fashinated that the Staffs are not all that far behind, esp when considering all factors. There are numerous examples of good Staffs the last 10 years, and with good I mean good compared to anything...

 

i've seen a young stafford last week down south working wild boars many times his size, this boy had no pretty pedigree to back him up but his work ethics are off the chart. never back down despite his short time or working experience and getting banged few times but once he got a hang of it i couldnt believe my eyes. anyway for me this was a good working dog

IDK why it always turn to a comparison ..I've had many apbt.game no doubt but OPask about staffs. Me personaly I'm into the heritage of the breeds and keepin it real.workin inside the breed and makin/ findin the best of it. I love the pups I'm feedin now and they've all got uk history.top noch. They're. There if ya'll know the right people.work what you got n build on it.

Yes.....37lbs. Give or take.....saw one recently that was 50lbs.,,,that can't be a real Staffy....this one below is not traditional "game" tested dog but has a drive that's crazy....loves rats,rabbits,hogs etc.I believe he could match wits with some good Hunting mutts....he comes from excellent stock here in the states..

SBT or APBT a fine looking animal

 

thanks guys for all the replies i honestly dont agree that the apbt is a superior animal there are too many factors to take in my opinion, i am looking for a working staff as i live in uk

 

SBT and Pitbulls can be very similar in a lot they do... but if it ware legal...the % of staffs being able to stay with a pitbull in a match would be very low...

Simple a breeding of 2 game staffords isn't easy to find.
If there is one there will be 50-100 of apbt.

Think that 90% or more of the so called working straing breedings with staff's is nothing more then peddling.

 

i am sitting not too far from a dog that is 100% stafford blood.

 

Pull anything else out o yer ass lately other than your statistics and yer 50/1,100/1 ratio's do you realy believe that every apbt is a mach dog...Not.most are loyal family pets .box dpgs make up a small% of the breed here in the good ole US.

 

i asked for facts not what you "think". peddling is a word taking too lightly by many. i'm yet to know a real dogman who kept, raised and worked every single dog by himself. they also had to farm out dogs/peddle dogs in order to produce good dogs. i consider mallen, and cairns peddlers among others , without them none of us wouldve gotten to know a stafford.

 

Where am i writing that every apbt is a mach dog? where am i writing that i believe that? You can tall me to pull someting else out my ass, but better for you te learn te read before you give comments like these.

Simple fact this topic is about working dogs. And simple fact is that if the stafford was equal to the apbt he would be overclassed by numbers.
One yard in USA had more working apbt's than there are real working staffords all over the world.

It's a fact and not what i think.
This topic is about working staffords, not about good staffords. Show winning staffords are also good staffords
for their owners. For me is peddling breeding staffords is breeding them with in the 6th generation psycho/beannie and 5 generations non tested en than barking that they are working dogs. But thats my opinion and feel free to have other opinion.

They can be good for you, they can be good for me, but we are fools if we call them working staffords and compare them with the real working dogs. For 99% sure they will not do the job for 10 mins against the working dogs.
