LOL,,, Gus would come out with his head high. When they hit, it was HARD chest to chest. Something broke or splintered in Gus' chest plate, or something like that (12 years ago or so) and pinched or pierced a major artery, hence :04... Gus was indeed a good dog IMO....

 

If I remember right, Ed bought most of Hollingsworth's yard, but look at most of Wildside bred dogs and see how many go back to the Hollingsworth stuff. Some early WSH bred dogs might, but I think Wildside pretty much went away from the Hollingsworth blood.

 

yea HH was HIGH on Gus before that trying to hook him into everything

inbred Mayday tends to be much smaller. 30s and 40s

 

yea got a lot of his yard. jack took a liking to the stuff when he visited faron but ed moved away from the blood

 

And IMO if it wasnt for Mayday, Hollingsworth would barely be remembered.

i would have to agree 100%..we had some and wasnt very impressed the 5 we had out of bull 1 made it and was just game with no other skills what so ever

what ever Hollingsworth was a crazy friggin re tired cop or sherrif or some shit, who thoght he was going to get rich on game dogs. like stated, Hollingsworth dogs just game nothing else, you have to add what you want, Hollingsworth allways had a reason he didnt want to match a dog( Couse in Florida he would have gotten Run over)Now he kept a clean yard and all that his care taking was good he had that part down, but he was NO MORE than a glorified puppy peddler, and thats the truth on him think what you want but thats the truth.

I bought a dog from Southern kennels and she has always been kinda shy and skittish. She still is and she is 15 months.
She will put it on opposums,cats,groundhogs,etc.

yes he had tombstone but he based most of his yard on bolio adding in tombstone he always bred back the bolio way and yes garner had other dogs and still does but the majority of his breedings go towards frisco by far and he made a shit load more money with the frisco dogs then any other

 

Naus is right. Garner had Chinaman, Spike, Hap, Rebel Yell, and the list could go on. Hollingsworth had one dog that made his name, or he would be remembered for his other great thing, which was culling all pups of a certain color, because that color was known to be curs in his mind lol....

and yes garner did have more then just frisco but you could add up all those other dogs he had and their offspring and he still sold more off frisco then any other dog by far he got chinaman as an old dog same with spike and you cant find neither on his yard without the frisco in there lol

and yes hollingsworth had a weird belief about color i never said the guy was GOD lol none of the names mentioned on this thread were/are but he did make an impact wether yall like it or not

 

Why waste my time blasting Hollingsworth on a Wildside and Southern Kennels thread? People are funny on boards, on one thread they bash breeders who dont test their dogs, then on another thread (here) they stick up for a breeder who only matched one dog, that lost! I would say that I would buy a pup from either Southern Kennels or Wildside before buying from a breeder that culled pups of a certain color, because they were born the wrong color lol.. Maybe he culled the wrong color and thats why so little came from him.
