ok i have kept it a secret from everyone here due to the srutiny that i would catch that i have several whopper dogs and i can tell you that from what i have learned here is totally untrue granted im only involved in weight pulling but i can say that there is not much that can beat a whopper dog in the sport that i love. i have whopper dogs that rangeanywhere from 45 to 100 lbs and i can promise that they have no quit to them and when you want to bash me for it just think what dogs win and what dogs dont. no matter the size they are working dogs and they will work and they have so many body pound national championships to prove it and tehy keep getting better and better, so my thinking is you better get with the program dog fighting is illegal and thats not what we should be breeding for we should start hinking about legal vices for our dgs and eddington dogs are ruling the whole thing (wilhe and whopper) sorry for the facts of weight pulling the other stuff i dont know about. sure there is better fighting dogs but even on hogs i have dogs that will go toe to toe with the smaller dogs. but mine are just a little bigger pm if you want to talk .

dang i am going to catch all kinds of hell for this post lol

i dont think anyone would argue with you. the dogs are good at what they are, but people get amd when they are labeled as APBT which they are not. same thing as bandogges or amstaffs, if you got one name it so not pass off as APBT. i think tht is the matter of the flakc ull catch

They're good pulldogs, but are they good BULLdogs? ;) There are some folks in the sport with Whopper dogs, and I really respect those people because of their accomplishments on the track. But I don't think they sould be calling them APBTs.

  4. well, congrats on your success with that line, but realize that in about 6 years from now, they will have outlawed THAT sport too, for being "cruel and torturous" to the dogs. whopper dogs are not apbt's.....and this forum is about apbts.

I don't understand why these folks don't get it........Like it was said before, this is a forum for the APBT, and no other breed. If you want to go start WHOPPERDOG.com, then go ahead. Damn, it's like somebody who likes Fords trying to talk about Fords in a Chevy forum. The fact that you guys keep trying to impose these dogs on this APBT forum is proof positive that you are trying to cut in on the APBT name for reputation sake, in a futile attempt to compare the dogs. In the meantime our breed of preference and us owners suffer the consequences of a breed that piggy backs the APBT name. Don't effin lie to me about not associating the name, maybe some of you don't, maybe one or two of you, but if I had $1 for everytime i here about some peckerheads 90lb "pitbull", I could buy an island for myself. The majority of the owners of these dogs call them pitbulls, you know, the "new standard" of pitbulls, because of the reputation of having a bad a$$ dog. If this is your dog of choice, then cool, have fun and much success, but get your own damn name. All we are asking for is that your breed bears the consequenses of their unproven temperament and any good things as well as bad things that happen because of them, and that you quit trying to hijack the name of the PITBULL

Marty...PLEASE ban the this effin topic, before long we will be talking about english bulldogs

Nobody has ever said Whopper dogs were not great at weight pulling. Who cares though. I love the APBT and Whopper dogs are completely different. Don't come on a game-dog forum and tell people to stop breeding for gameness. If you don't like game dogs why are you here. Your Whopper dogs are probably great dogs ,but sorry to tell you that they are not true APBT's. It seems that you would know this. This site is dedicated to preserving the true APBT. So don't suggest to us to start destroying the breed by not breeding for gameness.

at the risk of opening the gates of hell, what have you learned here that is untrue, and I am only talking about educated falsehoods? I don't think there is one person here that thinks dog fighting is legal in the United States. What program are you wanting people to "get with"?

Did the source of your Whopper dogs forget to tell you he was a crossbred mutt? (I'd hate to say bandog & disgrace those dogs since he wasn't bred for working ability but rather for size)That's great they do well in weight pull. So do OEBs, AmBulls, Bernese Mountain Dogs, Huskies, JRTs, Patterdales, etc. A good weight pull dog is no way near exclusionary with the APBT or in your case a "pit bull".

What kind of blood line are your "whopper dogs.."?? Some are actually from APBTs (like Turpins, some watchdogs, winegarners).. If Gotti then eh iffy there.
    RE's from amstaffs.

To me a dog that is over the standard weight, size and out of total conformation isn't worth a red cent. Now you take a 45 pound APBT and train it, build it and then prove to me the dog can break records I am all for it. But anything over 60 pounds proves nothing to me. They just take up space and time at APBT shows. Frankly I find it offensive and boring. You put that same 100 pound mongrel on a Puma and tell me it's worth when you have nothing but a bow to dispatch it. I may think you have a worthy dog then. There are a heck of allot more interesting events than pulling weight on a track. How is that Wooper dog on catch? Can that thing run down a Cougar, Bear or Hog and take that beast down when it gets there? Can it conform to standard in the show ring? Out side of that 20-25 foot track just how far can those dogs pull a cart loaded down with grain or something useful for market? When I was visiting Switzerland I watched those mountain dogs pull tremendous weight for many Kilometers to town and then bring supplies back. Then move and guard sheep and goats all dag gum evening. With a cross breed pulling dog it only has one use and it involves a short track and a bunch of weight a few times and nothing else. One sole skill. If that is the program I would rather raise hogs and forget dogs period. Pulling is great so long it is with a dog true to its breed and standard. Any thing else is really just cheating and lies.

Well maybe you should spread the word that the APBT is the only "game dog" out there LOL. What about the members here that have hunting or race track dogs...should they be "banned"? Quit acting like an ass and grow up. I could have sworn that this site was game-dog.com, not APBT.com.....

Whopper is a bloodline in itself. The original dog was a American Bulldog/Dogue de Bordeaux mix. He was bred to some good, game bred, bitches but the whole line is based on a mutt with 0% APBT blood. They are fantastic weight pull dogs but that does not make them APBTs or game.

Here is a pic of Whopper.

has this not been discussed already many many times and no matter what i say about a whopper serves no purpose here. you guys can say what you want im not claiming anything at all with these dogs. no need in arguing something like this. i havent seen any of them on a cougar or bear or whatever to tell you what they will do or not do how many have you seen is the question since you are bashing them so hard surely you have seen them or are they just some assumptions you make. im not at all saying they are going to take down anything. but i do know i have some that will for sure get after some hogs and not quit until it is done. but that is what i know sorry about the lions and tigers and bears just dont know about that one to tell you. and carrying loads far distances what do you think they are doing when you drag weighting i dotn kow how others drag weight but i can promise you that when i drag it is farther than your 20-25 feet, with a spiked sled, i like all the dogs you want to bash someones preference that is fine i figured out there is no point in arguing so i like what i like you like what you like your dogs do what you want and mine do what i want.im not claiming them to be anything you are doing that. so sorry to make you so mad ,

you don't make me mad. I just don't see the use of them out side of pulling a sled. Ya I have seen them do it. Great. But why not do it with UPF and not APBT shows?
That is what I would like to see. I like UPF events and seeing other breeds of dogs do what they do. Even mutts can pull and win titles for pulling. Never seen a pug or chewawah pull but it would be funny as hell to watch. When I am not at a APBT event I don't mind even watching those cross breeds pull. But not when I have limited time at a APBT event out of state. having to wait on the mixed breeds to get done so I can enjoy the ending events.

I think you should enjoy your dogs. And be proud of their talents. But don't tell me I am not with the program because I am not feeding them on my yard or using them in events. And I do have other breeds too. Hounds, Shar-Pei and one American Bull dog now. He is fixed. I hope he hunts wild game. Or does something other than fart and eat.

yea i made some remarks that were wrong in that first posts i agree it was one of those late night shouldnt have been on the computer nights i apologize for that.adn actually you dont have to wait on the whopper dogs cause they pull last at the shows lol 75 and over. just kidding with ya. well hopefully this will all die off its not worth arguing over.
