Ghost, I would have considered Hilary because of her husband's success, but she is too indecisive and vague with her answers. That scares me.

OT, you speak the truth. There is a reason we call ourselves God fearing Americans. Enough said. Oh, and I would like to see the confederate flag flown on more posts. It is part of our history, and Southern states should be proud of it.

Mexicans, well I have some friends that are Mexican or at least part. I do agree that they should speak, read, and write our language. I do agree that if they can't earn the PRIVELEDGE to live here legally, they need to be shipped off. This is with disregard to initial cost because in the long run, we would save a hell of a lot of money. And they need to quit with the bs of forcing our American kids to learn Spanish in school, next it will be that Macronesian language, as they have already flooded my area like crazy.

I cannot say much more without knowing each candidate's views. I'm still finding out more information.

This is what has gotten us in this sh*t hole to begin with. People are afraid of "throwing" away a vote and end up going for the lesser of two evils. I for one, won't stoop down to that. Throwing away a vote and voting for the lesser of the two evils is the exact same thing, so why not have the dignity to stand up for what you believe? If voting for Ron Paul is throwing a vote away, at least I did it knowing it was the right thing to do.

Just some quick bits on Dr. Paul:

-Only Republican to vote against the war.
*He's not against war, just unconstitutional war. Such as this Vietnam in the Middle East.
-Get rid of the Federal Reserve
*They are the reason our money sucks now and the lune is of a greater value. Every paper bill they print out decreases the value of our money.

    -Good-bye PATRIOT ACT

-He wants to get rid of the FBI, CIA, Dept of Education
    * They do more harm than good. CIA is why were are in this messy war to begin with. Exactly where are the WMDs again? FBI is not practical. States can do what they do only more practical. Dept of Education is a joke. Allowing the Gov. to tell us how to learn, what to learn and when to learn. That should be up to the states (i.e., school prayer)

    -Strictly constitutional

-States will have more power, which translates into the people having actual power in what happens to their community.

-Social Securtiy will be saved. The money put in will not be taken out to fund public projects such as now. PLUS, you won't get taxed TWICE on it. SS is a tax, but when people get there checks from SS, they are taxed again. Yep, taxing a tax.

-He wants to do away with income tax. The more we bring home, the more we spend which actually helps the economy. He doesn't believe the we should work to pay the government. Think about it. Every check you bring home, about 30% is going down the drain in taxes.

    -Secure borders
*No more amnesty for illegals. No more birthright citizenship. No more welfare. Enforcing visa rules.

-Get out of the "world government"
*(ICC), NAFTA, GATT, WTO, and CAFTA are controlling us. We say we've never had foreign troops on this soil that "set up shop". Take a look at the Grand Canyon. We have NATO soldiers patrolling the area. Those, my friends, are foreign troops.

-His voting record is impeccable. He doesn't flip flop and has stood behind his every word.

    http://www.ronpaul2008.com/

These are just quick tid bits. The sad thing about this is that he's truly American and a TRUE Republican. Not the Neo-Cons that are running this country into the ground. That's why he has a long shot. He'll unravel everything set up by the 2 party system. Hillary and Guiliani are the same person, just different camps. Did we not fight socialism in the 1940s-60s? So why elect someone (namely Hillary) that will basically put us into a socio-economic system? People need to realize we're going backwards in this country. When did the constitution become a relic piece of history?

I meant the lesser of two evils when it comes down to the final 2.. the 2 that have an actual chance at winning. I don't believe in throwing my vote away on someone who doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell at winning. As for Ron Paul.. he's not my guy.. I don't like what he stands for. I believe the war in Iraq needs to be handled differently, but I do not believe in turning tail and running because it's messy. I believe the CIA is something we have to have, I believe if we want to defend ourselves against terrorism in the future then we have to look beyond our borders and that is what the CIA is for. I am all for the fair tax system and doing away with the income tax. I am all for closing the borders. But then again I am 100% for the Patriot Act.. I don't give a tinker's damn if big brother wants to listen to my phone calls or read my emails.. you know why? Because I don't do anything illegal that I talk about over the phone or in email!! So if you are stupid enough to carry on illegal activity and then you talk about it on the phone or email or message boards... the you deserve to get caught! I am not looking to vote for ol' rotten crotch Hillary, nor do i like Rudy personally... I am leaning more toward Huckabee right now

Dr. Paul is a Libertarian. There's a difference between a Libertarian and a Liberal (social liberal). Social Liberals want a big government with a lot of rules to "protect" us from anything and everything. Libertarians want freedom. "If it doesn't affect you or hurt innocent people, why make it illegal?" So I'm sure he's anti-BSL as he sees that people should have freedom in the Home of the Free.

As far as the PATRIOT ACT... It's not that I have anything to hide, it's the fact they can listen to you AND come into your dwelling (without a warrant or even you being there) and snoop around. It's just the idea. Example: If you're staying in a hotel and the maid comes in and goes through all your stuff while your away, does that make it right?

Personally I don't see them coming into my house.. but if they want to break into my house when I'm not there and look around the only thing they are going to get is practice.. maybe some moonshine and some porn. But yeah I am willing to sacrifice some of my personal freedoms to defend my country as a whole. Because if they catch the next 9/11 before it happens then its worth it to me... we'll pick this up later I gotta go babysit some convicts..

I dunno man. The PATRIOT ACT is almost 100% against the Constitution, I just don't see how any American can be for it. Besides slapping the appropriate acronym of USA PATRIOT ACT on it, so if you are completely against it, it makes you seem like you aren't patriotic. We're heading more and more into an Orwellian society...
    ---------------------------------------------------------
The adjective Orwellian refers to these behaviours of State and The Party, especially when the Party is the State:

    • The political manipulation of language, by obfuscation, e.g. WAR IS PEACE. Using language to reduce and eliminate ideas and their meanings that are deemed dangerous to its authority.
    • Invasion of personal privacy, either directly physically or indirectly by surveillance.
    • State control of its citizens' daily life, as in a "Big Brother" society.
    • Official encouragement of policies contributing to the socio-economic disintegration of the family.
    • The substitution of traditional religion with the adoration of the State and its Leaders and their Party.
    • The encouragement of "doublethink," whereby the population must learn to embrace inconsistent concepts without dissent, e.g. giving up liberty for freedom.
    • The revision of history in the favour of the State's interpretation of it.
    • A dystopian future.
And look how George Orwell's book ends. Hint: Not good :(

When it comes down to it what the canditate thinks really has nothing to do with what happens. After they are sworn in their advisors and the lobbyists and people with leverage and power can make whatever they want to happen, happen. So even if there is a pro anti-bsl canditate out there it doesnt mean their personal feelings will make it safe to vote for them now... just so they can change their minds later to make other politicians happy... thats what always happens anyhow whether its a Republican or Democrat they vote wherever they are told to vote by advisors to make sure others will vote for something they want later, so if someone wants anti APBT laws and they promise to vote for the other guys friends for office or whatever project they want in their area later, I am sure they will change their mind real quick about how much they hate BSL....especially if someone in power can levy funds for their area like they do whenever they want to raise the drunk driving limit, just threaten to take away road funding and POOF the votes are in and its lowered...thats how it works and will end up... so vote for whoever they are all crooks anyhow...lmao

LOL. Definitely! If only there could be a chose that easy. lol....

To the person who mention Thompson, yeah, I have considered him. I have my candidates narrowed down to three people. Ron Paul is the one I have like the most so far, but Duncan Hunter and Fred Thompson have said a lot of things I agree with as well.

this whole voting thing is absurd in my eyes. i'm so friggin far outside of the establishment already that it doesn't matter. me, my dogs, and my guns. i live by no laws. i live off of morals and values. there's things you do and things you don't. it's not rocket science. i don't need some uptight scumbag telling me how to live. for those that are well within the establishment voting is definitely sure to make them feel better. but discontent abounds in this country and always will. no matter how good people have it they always desire more. it's just the way the dice roll. roll on everyone, roll on.......

This is a good point. I mean look at history. We'll have a Republican President , than after people get tired of them they'll vote for a Democrat. That'll go on for a little while until the Dems F up. Then back to Republican, then Democrat and on and on. Its been like that forever. Its just a GAME. The politicians are the players. Were spectators. Maybe Old Timer can speak on this but the only thing that changes from my stand point are the people in office, diff clowns in diff suites. As far as my life nothing really changes. The only thing that might affect me is what happens in local politics and nothing here other than a change in BSL has had an impact.

Things they vote on do in fact hit our personal lives.

    Brady Bill
    Taxes
    Wars
    Medical research
    Student loans
    Interest rates (Federal Reserve)
4th admendment (which the USA PATRIOT ACT totally wipes its ass with)
    Illegal Immigrants

and so on and so on...

I think it's very vital that we elect who we actually want in office and not leave it up to the lobbyists and the 2 party system

for the most part as much as it sounds bad your right.i have seen many many presidents and such come and go.they all acomplish something in office, but for the most part they have to do what they are told, each to a lesser or more extreme extent than the other.i have seen laws passed and overturned that made you sit there and think what they hell was they thinking.like that abortion deal but i ain't getting on to that, lol.see the civil rights deals, them kids in arkansas trying to go to school,Jfk and it goes on and on.

But you still have to at least vote for a candidate that you think will do things the right way, will they do things the right way ? probably not, will they change once they take office? more than likely but someone has to be the face of the country so might as well make it someone you at least felt good about when you voted them in or tried to vote in.i always have and will make my vote count and if i don't like the candidates that make it to the front running then i just don't vote i will wait 4 more years and see what comes up then.when you vote or do anything through life you have to use your head, know what you want and then stand up for it and never waiver no matter how much pressure is put on you or no matter how much your made out to be a ogre.figure out what you believe in and then never stray from it for any reason and never comprimise and you will do all right.

and like with everything else i have told folks to do i always tell them to do things i would or have done myself,i never give advice that i wouldn't be willing to take myself and follow.case in point i believed even when it was not the social thing to do that stringing up the negros and treating them the way they was being treated was wrong, myself and Dave one time came up on a deal in Mississippi where a negro stole a loaf of bread to feed his family and himself.well the was gonna cut this mans penis off for the offense even after they beat him senseless, they had him sitting on a stump pants around his ankels and they was sharpening a knife.so we asked what did he do,and they told us so we said don't do that and they went on about how they had to.so i offered the man 10 dollars for the nickel loaf of bread if he would turn him loose to us,he refused so Dave offered another 10 wich in them days was like offering 40 dollars apiece for a loaf of bread,he relented and handed him over.we was just about killed getting out of town, but we made it out ok because Dave had his gun under the seat and i had one myself so we made it out to fight another day.now was that the smart thing to do in that day and age, nope it was very stupid.but what was important to us was we belived that this was wrong and we stood our ground ready to take what ever came our way.so thats why i told that story to show that i never tell folks to do something i have never done myself.just use your head and stand your ground and you will do allright in life and at the polls, lol.

Well, I was looking through some candidates and still haven't decided who I like yet, but I did notice Sam Brown back was running. Anyone from KS should recognize that dreadful name. He is one of the reasons I moved to OK. Taxes, especially property taxes, are so high in the county I lived in that even middle class people are close to poverty. He supports illegal immigration. He is against the death penalty and the right to privacy. The good news is, he dropped out of the running. The bad news, he is sponsoring John McCain. If Mr. McCain becomes another heavy hitter, check up on his stance before voting for him.

Figured it was useful info. Also, what's this I hear about Al "Greenie" Gore running AGAIN!? It can't be true, is it? D@mn hippie liberal.

not too sure yet, but here's something for the "Hillary haters":

A grade school teacher in upstate New York asked her class how many of them are Hillary fans. Not really knowing what a Hillary fan is, but wanting to be liked by the teacher, all the kids raised their hands except one boy.

The teacher asked Johnny why he has decided to be different. Johnny says, "I'm not a Hillary fan."

The teacher says, "Why aren't you a Hillary fan?"

Johnny says, "I'm a George Bush fan."

The teacher asks why he's a George Bush fan.

The boy says, "Well, my mom's a George Bush fan and my dad's a George Bush fan, so I'm a George Bush fan!"

The teacher asks, "If your mom was a moron and your dad was an idiot, what would that make you?"

Johnny replies, "That would make me a Hillary fan."
