LOL so GrCh or Ch or winning has nothing to do with it, so basically you want to align yourself to be a breeder or possibly a peddler. Well good luck with that. 5 years ain't no time, that's a dog that's in their prime about to exit it. You might know a little bout them but lets not act like 5 years is a lifetime with some hounds. I gave you constructive criticism but obviously you took it differently, well I've been taught a hit dog will holler. Nobody belitted you, but that's a showing of your own lack of confidence in what you're doing or you showing that you actually know you been called on your shit. I gave you sound advice, DNA mom and the 2 potential sires, breed her to both sires and you can have both your litters done at the same time, maybe you missed that the 1st 2x I said it lol. I don't have an issue with what you're doing at all, you gotta feed that shit not me. I just said don't use some BS reason to do it, like saying "she got high prey drive so I know she won't be a good mother." that's a load of horse shit, a lot of these dogs have high prey drives lol. Just say you like your bitch and want to breed her nobody needs to know your reason, as long as you're happy nothing else matters. If I see or hear your pups being sold in the next 6-8 months I will let you revisit this post and see if I was right lol.

I never mean offense to anybody, if it's on the public board it's up for discussion. I don't feed nobody else's yard so I don't mean it one way or the other. If you're happy that's all that matters. Nice bred dogs, Thumper was bred nice, those Loner dogs were special and the few that's still around are still performing the same. Like Lil Kato also, those were more good dogs, seen a couple grandson's of Ch Sonny down south, they were good dogs.. Good Jeep/RedBoy/Rascal dogs can compete anywhere.

 

Numbers dont lie......... Folks want to say you cant compare fowl with dogs... I say wrong... Hens never get tested, but fathers, brothers, uncles , all get tested, then hens are selected... I forget, what great dogs came from a cold bitch?

 

If you talking fighting birds i say its a diff because they were created from animals that were game/deadgame by nature whereas dogs were not.

 

Good dogs are where you find them, great ones you never find them you just get lucky with them.. Cold dogs produce and so do curs.. Honeybunch, Dirty Mary, Ch Catfish, Miss Spike, Art's Missy, Ch Lil Bit, McCollum's Lyda, Ch Becky, Ch Dirty Jersey, Assassinator are a few gyps who are considered amongst the greatest producers ever and none of them were cold but you do have Awesome Baby who is held with great prestige. Males you have Jeep, Frisco, Mayday, Buck, Booger, Yellow, Bo, Werdo, Slim Shady, Blackjack, Gator, Butkus, Banjo, Tombstone, Little Man etc as some of the top producing dogs and none of them were cold, could be coincidence or consequence.

 

would like to post this little write up about Irene to add to RnRs and it was said she was cold. Also the "bulldog starter kit" j/rb/r that can compete anywhere. I am a huge fan, or you can add a lil snooty or jocko in the mix as well. the male in my avatar is j/rb/r and he is epitome of a bulldog.

Correct she is another cold one, and Ozzie dog was cold and Keystone Kid had a cold bitch that also produced Chs. It does happen without question but I like the other chances personally and I would of raised a dog off Irene no doubt but I wouldn't have bought one. I had a cold gyp and we bred her to a Ch, a 1x who was ROM and a Ch that was POR and each litter half of the pups were cold, and only 1 or 2 of the litter wouldn't be worth any grain of salt. She had big litters too, always had 8-12 pups. We bought her because we had her sister who was a very talented game gyp, she also produced no matter what she was bred to, each litter that gyp produced several winners but she never had big litters, each litter only 3-5 pups 2x she had 6 and both times 2 of the pups died at birth. She never produced a cold dog and many of them made the cut. We also bred her to the 1x and got Ch, a 2x and then 2 1x. Bred her to a 2x who ended up being a cur later and that litter produced 4 pups which all 4 made it, 2 became 2x and the other 2 were 1x and 1xgl.. We bred her to a game plug and got 3 damn good animals a Ch and 2 2x which one loss game. So you see 2 littermates both came off winning dogs and good producers and 1 was game and produced that more often than not and the other was cold and produced it more often than not.

 

I have been fortunate enough to have had plenty down from Irene and her littermate Floyd and haven't had any cold. I guess that's the luck of the draw.

 

That's how it goes, got to raise some off a bitch that was off Dick, she was a bad bad gyp, bone structure was light, she had a lot of leg but she was a good dog and was smart and as fast as any dog I've seen and she had heart.. She got bred to a real game 2x from the countryside, that litter was really good.. Raised 3 of them to adulthood out of the litter of 5. All 3 made it, 1 loss his 1st time and retired, 1 won his 1st and lost his second real game. the last one the female won 2 but being retired.. The owner was a bit foolish, end up losing the gyp, she got sick and he couldn't figure out the issue so instead of bringing her in, giving her some antibiotics or taking her to a vet he figure she would be ok, that bitch end up dying. I never spoke to him again after that.
