Has anyone talk to her I have not seen her on in awhile??? Just concerned....

I was hesitant to post in this thread because I didn't want to speak on her behalf...but I've spoken to her several times-most recently today. She is fine, Cole is great. I sent him a bunch of old-school bugs bunny dvds and a great camoflauge doo rag...I'll have to try and convince her to post a pic of him in it.
She hasn't been online for anything in several weeks...things are different after what happened to Miakoda. A part of her she can't explain went with her. Out of respect I won't say anything else about her personal feelings, but she is keeping a stiff upper lip and her book of letters is about put together- she has over 100 letters speaking out against BSL and supporting our cause to keep our breed alive. She plans to hand deliver them and is thankful to everyone who contributed.

I'm sure she'll pop in again soon...

I'm alive and well, although my internet time will not be near as much as it has been.

It's hard to explain but a lot has changed since the incident...including myself. Things that seemed so important now seem trivial, and vice versa. To be totally honest, it was hard for me to look at my remaining dogs and for a while I had nothing to do with them other than to provide basic care. I was depressed and ashamed of how I felt. But then I realized that I cannot live without these dogs and that my dogs deserved much better than how I was treating them.

As time has gone on, my anger and sadness has faded slightly and been replaced by determination to prevent this from happening again to anyone who owns any breed of dog but specifically us "pit bull" owners. I have been fighting the fight in person: on my own street, in my own city, in my own parish, and in my own state. The book is in it's final stages of the 1st edition and hopefully it will be ready to go out to government officials and media personnel within the next 2 weeks.

The man who shot Mia faced his first court date already. Both charges stuck (the animal cruelty and the firearms charge), although the animal cruelty charge was reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor. Although extremely pissed at first, I have since realized that we still have a chance to make a point with this guy. Jail time won't happen, but severe fines will and we are also pushing for a "donation" to a reputable 'pit bull' rescue to be made by him as well.

Their lab was euthanized, but a call from a neighbor last Thursday revealed that they have already obtained a boxer puppy. I'm not sure what I think on that issue other than he should not be allowed to own a dog for a very very very long time.....if ever. However, it will be brought up in court.

We go to court next Thursday so keep the situation in your thoughts and prayers.

My entire family wants to thank everyone and remind everyone how appreciative we have been and still are over the outpouring of support. Thank you.

Sounds like you are fighting the good fight, and seems like you are making some ground. It stinks this guy has obtained another dog, but hopefully his days in court will get some justice...I've been keeping you and yours in my prayers. Thanks for letting us know how you are.
