Well I'ma start by say the name pitbull shouldn't of been nowhere in that ad! They need to stick with the name the breed is Am. Bully is what they are. I think they said NOT GAME BRED is to let the buyer know that these are NOT APBT! :cool:

 

They said Not Game Bred like game bred was a bad thing.Ray Charles could tell this isn't a game bred dog.Looks like they crossed a English Bulldog with a Boston Terrier.

 

There mixed with the English bull dog. Some pit too I know some one who has some. Not my cup of tea!

 

And the bastardization of the American Pit Bull Terrier as a medium sized athletic dog into a modern day english bulldog in america continues.... "does puke in mouth" :eek:

 

that's not the worst i've seen. a "friend" was bragging about her chance of a lifetime breeding with this dog named chub low or lo rida or some crap like that. this dog's legs are so short you can barely tell he has any.his body is just huge. i told her whatever tickles her pickle, but she's asking for nothing but vet bills from those dogs. here's the real kicker they want a $1500 stud fee. to each his own i guess.

They forgot to mention the health problems, lack of drive lack of wind, and lack of capacity to do much more than sit there blink

ok,here's a question asking for opinions.Assumming this isn't a real pitbull[a pretty fair assumption,I think] Would you say it's got English Bulldog in it.I just seen it on a website selling pups and it amazed me a little a what people will do,so if the moderators feel I crossed the bashing line on this,then by all means close the thread.It's not a bully vs game bred debate that I was getting at.Which I obviously would be on the game side if it were.It's the fact this tard put on the ad Not Game Bred in capitol letters like a game bred dog would run around the neighborhood eating people's babies or something.I was just showing how bad people's opinion of game bred dogs are getting to be plus some really awful breeding practices.

 

Due to the obvious mis-labling of what this dog really is shows a true lack of understanding of what is and what is not a real APBT. Not sure what his/her intentions are behind the advertisement and the mentioning of non-gamebred, is this person viewing it as a good or thing or a bad thing ? I do not think we will ever know so we can only speculate. Most bully peddlers will be quick to mention some historical dog mixed into the ped somewhere down the line as a tangable debate that thier Bully is really an APBT because the dog has "so & so" in its pedigree thus justifying to them that thier dog is a legit APBT. This person is atleast not falsely claiming that the dog is something that it is not, most of these style breeders not only claim that the dogs used in thier breeding program are from "game dogs" but they are also convinced that these dogs are pure APBT, IMHO this only makes this guy half an idiot.


As for the rest of this thread it does go against the rules so I am more inclined to repsect the wishes that Rooster requested by locking it down, however I am willing to leave it open as to discuss why this person mentioned "Not game-bred". If our members cannot respect the rules then myself or the other mods will be forced to shut it down, so if anyone wants to discuss why the person labled the dog as non-gamebred then we can leave it open but if this is just going to bea Bully bashing thread then it will serve no value to the forum and we WILL lock it down....the choice is your people.

 

i can totaly see why they would specifiy "non game bred", and everyone else should too unless they have been living under a rock.
"game bred" animals have been the focal point of a massive extermination attempt as of late due to missunderstanding of the breed AND some less than deisrable folks doing wrong by them. all you have to do is look at all the big names that have been busted over the past couple years, and the police blotter in many towns. people think the breeders (FB, PP, WSK, etc, etc) are churning out man killers and Fido eaters BECAUSE of the things they see in their local police blotter-uneducated,uncaring, owners doing wrong by the dogs and setting them up to fail.
they see the game bred animal as a liability. thus by specifically stating NOT game bred- it brings awash of calm over the animal, THIS dog was bred NOT to be DA ( beit as true or untrue as it may) and that is yet another marketing tool for this breed to gain popularity. quite ingenious really...until the bully you bought that was not "game bred" kills Conquistador, your 3 pound teacup chihuahua. and then the cycles begins anew...

 

I can't see the web site, but as long as it says a Pit Bull I think it is OK as PB is slang for several breeds. PB breeds include Am Staffs, Staffy Bulls, APBT and now Am Bulls. Not my cup of tea either but some folks love the Am Bulls.....

 

i know why the guy specified not game bred. for the same reason this dude in my area specifies it. he saw my dogs and said they were beautiful, i saw his dogs and said man those things are big. he proceeded to explain that they are not game bred (duh). he also told me he tells people specifically they are not game bred when they come to buy a pup. he says there's no money in game dogs. i rolled my eyes and walked away. he does what he does and that's his choice. at least it keeps the focus on his dogs and off of mine. i think that's why most people would say not game bred. it's all about the money to some people. plus, it's the truth, they're not. at least, they're not lying.

 

i ve only read a few posts on this thread...and what i dont understand peoples misuse of the word "pitbull". its just a vague description misused by the retarded media anyway, and theres no educating them morons. i dont care if you call a piece of crap bully a pitbull, whatever....BUT DONT YOU CALL A BULLY AN AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRIER!!!!!!!!!! that is the breed i own, and when asked what kinda dog im walking, thats what i tell folks. drives me crazy when people call APBTS pit bulls. just my take on the name game folks

 

When you hear about "pitbull" attacks its ussualy by a bully.Then the media talks about dog fighting and how pitbulls are bred to be vicous.the media tells folks that these are game bred dogs and they mistake that for being another word for "killer" or somthing. Instead of advertising them as being "not game" . He should advertise them for what they are. They are dogs that have a lot of guard and protector blood in them,and these are the dogs that will bite your visiting mother,your neighbor,and your child. So thanks for saying "not game bred" but he should advertise them as having HA dogs in their ancestory.

 

false, its usually by a dog of unknown origin. you might want to look up what the defining features of a "pit bull" are, and you will see everything from labs to jrt's mistakenly identified as "pit bulls"

and this is pure assumption. how do you know there are HA dogs in their ancestry?

this is the type of attitude that is very dangerous-to think that its impossible for the APBT to be ill tempered. it DOES happen from time to time, like it or not. its not always a mixed breed dog, or bully.
