I agree with you. The Raghead dogs are some intense hounds. I've never seen a Snakehead dog, but the Deloach dogs are nice dogs also. Both are good strains derived from the Eli lines. So, I don't see why they wouldn't cross well together.

Never had an eli bred dog until 2007, if he speaks for the rest of em' well a short of my few years of owning a dog all eli on one side ~

Not a bad bulldog at all; out-crossed. Got a arcaic mouth like rasin durability of vindicator, intelligence of snooty, and hard as nails as the halls bred eli stuff.. Took a car at 65mph to slow him down in 2010, he didn't break a bone and come runnin to me and spit the ball out when the car spit him out, lol that hyaundai was spewing water and oil.. poor dog.. racket ball hit a rock and sailed 30yrds over tall grass into a two lane back road. Fellow inspectors were amazed thats not what they imagined a pit bull at all.. 35lbs and broke down the car while he brought the ball back, LOL.. Years ago he got his chance and slobberknocked a bull moose, treed two bear himself and one after in 10'.. This winter he's showed signs of arthritis.. :( He's a good shop dog now. He's always listened to command. In two kennel accidents dispatched me of my JRB dogs. One was winter I bring em in the deep cold and crate em, one busted out the other chewed out and I awoke roughly 2hrs later and had to break it up, with the mrs sayin I heard some commotion out there about 2hrs ago, LOL.. sigh.. The other was while I was at work my JRB dog broke is C clamp and scaled the fence and when I got home had to holler at the vet and was advised to euthanize another and my last tighly bred JRB dog down from my old school Okla tants stuff. Both were accidents from not knowing aka from ignorance as if can happen it will happen.. Gotta be prepared for that stuff and most aren't prepared at all.. I just employeed the same containment practices I used when I had wolves, except I added the chain and axel ;) I check my dogs links and clamps every month now and the fences weekly if not daily LOL, I put axel grease on my axel tie outs put bobbed wire on puppy pen hog wire topper on the others.. He done the same thing to both dogs got under there armpit .. both time he had limited marks at all , once he got a broke foot.. Hes not DA at all and is very reserve. Hes still the champ of the soccer field and everyone loves him at the vet to the park, young and old, officials, white collar or blue collar.. Everyone loves this 35lb ball of excellence.. I don't keep up to much with that Eli blood in general but if he's anything like the rest of em I can understand why people love to feed em........... If he's mediocre I'd sure like to open my eyes to the best, he's made quite the impression on me.

Props to all ya'll eli connoisseurs, so many strains of eli dogs and most of them speak for themselves...

  7. Yeah I had me an Eli dog once. He broke loose off his chain as a youngster once and ran through an entire yard of 17 dogs demolishing them all. Was so slick he never even had a tooth mark on him. A few years later a pair of wolverines decided they were going to give him a try. He held one down with his paw while he tore the guts clean out of the other. The second one got loose and decided to run but my boy chased him down and made hamburger out of him. We were visiting some friends in Florida and an alligator was in the back yard endangering one of the children. My boy went and grabbed that gator by the neck and thrashed it good! We had fried gator that night and I still have the boots I made with the hide to this day. :) I really thought I was going to lose him the day we were out strolling down the railroad tracks. Next thing you know here comes a train and me and my boy were separated. He came bolting across the tracks at the last second and I couldn't bear to watch as I knew he was going to get hit. Low and behold he did. I was amazed though that he came through it unscathed and actually derailed the train. I'm glad it wasn't a passenger train as I would have hated for anybody to get hurt due to my dog. You all may have read about that in the papers in 05. He's 27 now and still going strong. He ran for mayor 3 years ago and won the position. He's made many improvements to the city and is thinking about running for a position in state government when his term is up as mayor. Don't know what I'd ever do without him. Guess I'll save some DNA and clone the little bastard though. Greatest dog to ever walk the planet for sure.

entertaining segway, but staying on topic...

This is just hearsay but some one who witnessed Llantas personally related to me how the dog's performance was suspect.
Was not informed about his production ability.
