Here is an application for registration Note key word application for "registration"

    PURPOSE OF REGISTRATION

An accurate stud book is essential for dog breeders who carefully plan breeding and are diligent in the selection of quality brood stock. Without a true pedigree behind the stock, there would be no way to predict what type of offspring will be produced for the future. Every registration office throughout time has had to rely on the integrity of the breeders who submit paperwork into the office for the accuracy of the stud book. This is true of equine, bovine and canine registries alike.

Having an animal “REGISTERED” with an organization is a stamp of approval from that organization that the breeder has fulfilled the requirements in record keeping, transferring ownership's, etc. and the pedigree can be deemed accurate. If a registration organization is strictly “in it for the money” and has NO requirements and any dog rescued from the pound, stolen or “looks like a Pit Bull” on visual inspection can be registered for a fee, then having a “REGISTERED” dog with that organization means nothing. We want your dogs’ registration with the American Dog Breeders Association to mean something! Thank you for your support.

I believe a "registered dog" to be a dog that has been accounted for by a registry company. I also believe that "in general" if someone speaks of their dog having "papers", they're saying that their dog is registered with a registry. But I also see the other side of the coin about generations of hand written peds serving as "papers" as well. So, I suppose one would have to explain what type of "papers" they have for their dogs if they were selling one, as some people care about registration and some don't. Just my opinion.

I can respect that treezpitz my point is no where on any of these websites for registering a dog do you see the registries referring to a dog as being "papered". When you register a dog it doesn't become "PAPERED" It becomes registered with that registry and a copy of the dog's pedigree and registration information is mailed to you thus making the dog registered would you agree?

I agree 100%! My belief is that people started using the term "papers" to explain that their dog was registered. And that was what probably started the confusion to begin with.

The term "papers" was used in the past to describe official documents that proved that a person or in this case dog was who they were supposed to be. It's only an opinion... but I believe papers mean the dog is officially registered and a birth recorded with a registry. To me a hand written, or printed pedigree is just that a pedigree. The latter is good enough for me.

Its been said before, its a sales pitch. This game is growing
So fast because of the net. With that said simple
Words like papered, 80 times Redboy, 6 times ROM,
POR, it brings in the new guys looking for the next big name.
They spend big dollars, then simply recupe there funds by
Simply breeding that pup. Get a fancy kennel name, usr the same
Sales pitch that got them hooked, and the cycle contines.
Next sucker up, I have papered puPS of my 6 x rom.
I asked the other day on gamedogs what they thoght of him
And they all approved of him, they said he looks
Like his sire and you know what that means. Gettem
    While there hot!
    I love this shit,

exactly and why is there ANOTHER thread on this?

This is what it comes down to

Sadie believes a papered dog is any dog of known lineage registered or not. I think that is false and it got twisted into all this other ish.

Who cares, its your mutt. The person buying it is the one who should care. Listen folks
There just dogs till proven there a bulldog. If you want it registered, papered,
The only thing that really matters is the one you bring in your arms into the square.
At that point the paper aint doing shit for you. Get of the net and go scope poop.
To many stupid topics, and peoples feelings getting hurt over the dumest shit!
    Papers? Registration s really!.
Come on folks get real. You either bulldoging or you have a pet, dont be on here trying
To start stupid shit, then getting all bent out of shape over stupid topics.

i agree 100%. If i hear "papers" im thinking registered, If my Lady ask if a dog is "Papered" and it aint registered i say no, not that it wont have a Pedigree, in that case its "no papers, but i got a pedigree". I think it like that because usually when anyone get "papers" of any kind its some sort of official document.

  18. Basically, this means that it is relatively easy for unscrupulous individuals to register their dogs with the CKC, so be cautious of these breeders.

I cant give a hand written Birth certificate to get my pass port, I need a REGISTERED Birth certificate to get one regardless if they both are written on paper LMAO.
