why does it show owners name in the pedigree? for example im the owner.
Bas's xxx? should be the kennels name.

  5. Great question @Bas..The promise I'm delivering is organization;therefore, I took it upon myself to omit and set rules against user's adding Owner's name in the same field as the "Dog's name field" line. Lets take the fundamental approach here, when we first register puppies with a registry doesn't matter which registry! We all filled in the same required areas and info onto the form. There's a line for Owner's name, a line for Breeder's name and a line for Dog's name and a line for call name...ect! I'm taking that same approach. Trust me its better for organization and structure within the database. Go to other databases they're 2-3 duplicate pedigrees with slightly different info on each...those site lack data entry structure in regards for organizations. They let users enter data however they feel...to me that's very unorganized.

so to answer your question: put your "kennel's name" in the "Kennel field" and if that dog's is owned by the same kennel, then add it to the Owner's Fields as well. What I don't want to see is people adding Owners or Kennel's name within the same field as the dogs complete name....THAT'S WRONG!!

I have improved the database quite a bit, it removes or add uppercase & lowercase letting when needed, so for example you can enter a dog name in ALL CAPS or lowercase lettering and the database with convert it accordingly. it's not prefect but its a few step away from being GREAT!!

Also, if a user add the Owner's name in its required filed and adds "JUST" the dog's in it required field, the database automatically merges the info together in the pedigree table for you. So the end result would be the (Owner's + Dog's name) within the pedigree table. I paste a link below with instruction for you and other's to follow, feel free to contact me if you have other concerns regarding this mater.

  6. Also, i have addressed that error message your getting in other posts, it a character issue, make sure there is not blank spacing before or after any word in any field. Some characters symbols are not allow and would created that error and other issues.

i understand, but if i buy a dog from garner for example

it's garner's xxx i didnt bred the dog, but if i fill in my name as the owner. it will show as bas's xxx. im not a kennel either. so what should i do in that case?

sorry if i misunderstand, my English aint perfect.

  8. @Bas if you "brought" a dog from Garner, then Garner is no longer the owner "you are. There's a Breeder Field, in which you should put the reputable breeder's name, in this case Garner. It's really self explanatory. Only add the true Ownership of the dog into the owner's field, so if the dog was framed out to you, then you can't honestly claim your the true owner. And if you brought the dog and transfer ownership as the new owner, then yes add "Bas" in the owner field and the database will take care of the rest.

    Hope that helps

ok i understand how it works. but for example on apbt online you don't do that unless you bred the dog.

    bas's dog..... guess i need a better nickname :D

  10. Lol at Bas :D it's your user present online that counts. What about Bas Kennel's?

    lol
anyway, ill add some like 10/15 dogs today.

maybe it would be better to put land of standing in the pedigree
cause now it's Bas's Bella Jr POLAND, while its in the netherlands
    thats a bit werid

  12. Yes, I see it shows Portland...hmmmm and thanks for contributing.

np, also each time i want to add breeder it doesnt auto fill in. i already added the kennel a few times. then it directs me to a huge list to search in ^ this will cause that allot of kennels will be entered double.. just some feedback

  14. Yes I am working on that...here' a trick if you add the first word of the kennel, the result will list only the first word, but if you add "kennel" into your results all the KENNEL names will show.

Example: instead of entering "Bas kennel," just enter "Bas" you will get a smaller result. I am working on a lot of new features, so please bear with me..not to mention I also got a Amstaff site to build.
