    Hello Game-Dog -

It has been quite awhile for me. But I know you folks are probably some of the only people that truly understand how a magnificent APBT can live and become a huge part of your heart and life. This dawg, Wetherington's Quiet Thunder, AKA Buddy went to the bridge today. My once hearty, powerful and loving companion had wasted away to nothing, and even in his last days wagged his tail and followed me around as if to make sure I was protected. My heart is broken and I can't believe he will not be wanting my coffee and eggs tomorrow morning. His PB smile is so clear in my head it hurts. But what would one expect from a Mountain Man dawg, right?

So RIP my faithful and loyal friend, I miss you so much and I pray I sent you on to a better place before your uncomplaining suffering got to much for even the greatest PB heart to bear.

RIP Wetherington's Quiet Thunder....you were a true vision of a great APBT, you will always live in my heart....14 years was not enough

    The Power Of The Dog
    by Rudyard Kipling

There is sorrow enough in the natural way
    From men and women to fill our day;
And when we are certain of sorrow in store,
Why do we always arrange for more?
Brothers and Sisters, I bid you beware
Of giving your heart to a dog to tear.

Buy a pup and your money will buy
    Love unflinching that cannot lie--
    Perfect passion and worship fed
By a kick in the ribs or a pat on the head.
    Nevertheless it is hardly fair
To risk your heart for a dog to tear.

When the fourteen years which Nature permits
Are closing in asthma, or tumour, or fits,
And the vet's unspoken prescription runs
To lethal chambers or loaded guns,
Then you will find--it's your own affair--
But...you've given your heart for a dog to tear.

When the body that lived at your single will,
    With its whimper of welcome, is stilled (how still!);
When the spirit that answered your every mood
    Is gone--wherever it goes--for good,
You will discover how much you care,
And will give your heart for the dog to tear.

We've sorrow enough in the natural way,
When it comes to burying Christian clay.
Our loves are not given, but only lent,
At compound interest of cent per cent.
Though it is not always the case, I believe,
That the longer we've kept 'em, the more do we grieve:
For, when debts are payable, right or wrong,
A short-time loan is as bad as a long--
So why in Heaven (before we are there)
Should we give our hearts to a dog to tear?

RIP Buddy. It's always hard to lose a family member.

We lost our 14 years old dog past September, day before his death he was perfectly but next day he stopped breathin. To be honest and selfish, that's the best way he could pass, no pain... just a "see you later, i'll take a nap". my condolences.

2011 its being a bad year for us overall but could be worse.

Condolences mydawgs. People who have never owned and cared for a dog, can never really understand how hard it is on a person that loses their dog. Its like losing a best friend...
