Virginia Tech graduate is a breed apart from Michael Vick




Two days after the horror of the Virginia Tech Massacre on April 16, 2007, Michael Vick donated money to the families afflicted by the tragedy. Ironically, this donation coincided with the implication of Michael Vick and his accomplices in another massacre: Since 2001, when Vick entered the National Football League, Vick housed and trained over fifty Pit Bull dogs, staged dog fights, ran a gambling ring, and murdered inadequate dogs.

In 2010, when Vick received the NFL Comeback Player of the Year Award, Virginia Tech student, Helia Zarkhosh, Class of 2011, adopted her Pit Bull Mix, Ellie Mae, formerly Shakira, from the Pulaski County Humane Society. “In college, I finally adopted my first dog. Choosing to bring home a Pit Bull mix was certainly a shock for my family.”
