i dunno, how many other horseman can you name besides christopher reeves that is paralized from the neck down, how many boxers can you name besides muhammed ali that came down with parkinsons?

the only reason i can name it is because i heard about it and it happened to a famous dog, but it would be foolish to think it hasnt happened to a few or a hundred of the hundred thousand active nobody dogs out there. just cuz you or i havent seen it or known anybody that it happened to, doesnt mean it wont or cant happen.

ill take my chances with two legs on the ground, plus its a better workout.

 

i do agree on keeping them legs on the ground because of the better work out, however closeby in belgium they also have sporting events sometimes wich also includes hangingtime in wich the dogs HAVE to be with theyre feet of the ground, so if that can really harm your dog im not sure.

like saying dont ride horses because you might fall and get paralyzed and believe me if it were happening to hundreds of dogs people would know. what i'm getting at is besides the hb story how many dogs have you known or heard about getting hurt working the springpole with their feet off the ground? many dogs do, not just bulldogs and are fine. personally i'm an advocate of feet planted for the workout but i'm not gonna go around shaking my finger at people who dont saying "remember honeybunch" and get sick of people who do. hell i've seen dogs fall flat on their back while working the flirt. they just get back up and start working again, they're not made of paper mache.

 

Mine is typically low enough for them to touch their hind legs to the ground, however, in the video I posted I laid the bait on top of my daughters swingset so he would leave it alone but he jumped up about 6 1/2 feet and grabbed it and it pulled thru the monkey bars of the swingset shortinging the rope, he eventually sprung the spring and pretty much destroyed it to the point where it started out as a 12" spring and is now about 3 1/2 feet long now. Time to replace it. While I agree that they get a better workout whith their feet on the ground they work their necks and jaws alot more by hanging due to their own weight. I don't typically let them hang though for fear of chuckin out a hanger....

well before i was even aware of the safe way of having 2 legs on the ground i had them in the air, and yea they fell a few times, and yea they got right back up but death isnt alway the worry, they can still injure themselves severly.

honeybuch died of it and i couldnt tell you another dog that has. but ive heard enough people say "this is dangerous, and this is the right way to do it". if i can point out and help em save a potential accident from happening then im all for it, wasnt criticizing, im sure catch & Xi already know how to work a spring pole, but if there was that little chance they didnt know the risks or hear the story, now they do & that was my point

 

Well in that case, dont go surf/swim in the ocean a shark will eat you.
Dont cross the road cause you might get hit by a car, DONT swim in a pool cause you might drown, Dont inlist in the armed forces you might get killed. Don't drive fast you might Wreck, dont fly cause the plane might crash, dont ride the bus a plane might crash on it, Dont get on a cruise ship cause it might sink. I could go on and on about SHIT that might happen.................while you just sit back in your porch, behind the computer and enjoy watching what everyone one else is enjoying DOING..............
