in terms of sheer numbers, depth of breeding pools and corporate knowledge so to speak, the US is dominant. …similar to Holland, Czech Republic with the military/police K9s breeds.

Yeah I'm sure some countries are good with certain breeds. Arabs are great with falcon. Plus the word coporate and military don't really exist in the bulldog world. So when it comes to care nutrition yada yada it's very personal with some sharing of knowledge through books and and if your lucky enough to know good dogmen. Winston Churchill had a pitbull but it was 2nd world war a dog with balls was respected. Now it's more intelligence yada yada so they like the smarties like German shepherd and what ever else. Their good dogs too for their purpose. But you know what they say if ain't a pit it ain't shit. Hahoo!! Hahee I love saying that.

First I've heard of this also. Multiple presidents did but I never heard of Churchill having one.

Yeah he defo had show bulldogs.(pug/bulldog)...and I think he kept poodles to lol.....could be wrong about the poodles tho...................................but yeah, the good old U.S.A.must still have the best dogs.even tho the law is harsh over there, the sheer size of it alone, must make for huge numbers of great dogs.

a small percentage of APBT owners/breeders are real dog men with real dogs , the rest are pet owners with untested dogs ,thats what it is like in the USA and and is the same in the rest of the world

Very true.I suppose the U.S.A is so huge that there is a lot of shite to....do you think there are more dog men in that country then any other country???...I would of thought so??.or perhaps things change..but as you say the majority of owners all over the world keep them as pets.which dose the breed no good imo..........

Look I just read about this stuff, from a historical perspective. The pit/gamedog may not have been invented in the US, but certainly was perfected here. To be fair, there are no Colby, Tudor, Heinzl, Mayfield equivalents in Asia or South America. Not that I’ve heard of anyhow.

I would say U.S. seeing as how we have states bigger than a lot of countries. Even without the large yards of yesteryear id say U.S. on sheer volume alone. The flip side is there a lot of junk here also

The breed was most definitely perfected there.I think without the American influence, the breed would of went extinct.as Mr Revolution said "bigger states then most country's".plus most of them states for the past hundred years have had, bread, worked, these animal's consistently(or near on consistently),for over a hundred years to a very high standard.....is it any wonder its such a phenomenal animal??

I think it was just a case of natural progression though and bigger selection , if the UK and Ireland had slacker laws over the years then the dogs would have improved anyway without a doubt. I wouldn't say you actively did anything better or to improve the dogs though.

"I wouldn't say you actively did anything better to improve the dogs though." .....wow.don't you think just the sheer size of America, and the selection process for the last 50 years has done something to make them better??.I mean just the way they can keep them over there,is gunna bring out there potential alone.for about the last hundred years they have got the best out of there dogs.has Britain??.there ain't no family's what came from Britain in the last hundred years.if so.know one would of imported the dogs from America in the first place.mate Texas is about ten times the size of Great Britain.and that's just one state.and what about how popular the sport was over there?.it was a lot more popular then it was in Britain.so with all this in mind it's seems that without the Americans, that the breed would be extinct.or fucking crap.lol........

I just look at it like Britain and Ireland did they part. then America did its part. Now its up to others to do they part to preserve and better the breed.
