    1) Anyone got any dogs with underbites? Post pics if possible
    2) Will you breed a dog if it has an underbite?
    3) Do you care how the underbite looks? Do you dislike it, like it or are you indifferent?
    4) Does the underbite affect the dogs bite and grip or is it simply aesthetics?

Just curious because on a fit dog group on Facebook (which I'm now banned from for saying someones "Razors Edge Blue Nose" wasn't an APBT as they claimed it to be) I was talking to someone about how it's sad that the English Bulldog, once a tenacious and well adapted fighter has turned into a fat slob mess with a fucked up grill (this particular dog we were talking about was especially genetically fucked up) and how it must be impossible for them to get a good grip on anything, the person I was talking to was saying that their extreme underbite is actually beneficial to them.. Which I don't buy at all... Of course I don't expect anyone here to have an APBT or mutt that has an underbite akin to an English Bulldog but please feel free to talk about your experiences with dogs with underbites, no matter how slight they are

yes, yes , couldn't care less and no. providing of course that it not an extreme example , if there's not much in it, its only a correct bite upside down.

i should add i also keep a few French bulldogs, their great little characters, will run a mill, flirtpole and work the spring pole, being undershot doesnt effect them gripping in the slightlest

Exotic bullys have heavy English and French bulldog blood. Clean functional bullys are selectively bred American staffs and APBT crosses. Exotics have more French and English bulldogs than anything else. Extreme inbreeding and paper hanging. There is know way you can selectively breed a exotic dog in the last 25 years from Staffs and APBT crosses to look like that. Bullys should have a tight sizzor bite a underbite is not a trait of a propper bully but a lot of these Exotic dogs out there do and they are not cheap. As for dogs that have underbite that are suppose to I know a girl that has a bitch English bulldog the under bite is at least 2'' on that dog. Can she bite you bet she can I was tugging with her and she supprised the shit out of me actually a really good gripper. The English bulldogs of 100+ years ago had a tight underbite actually they looked like a very functional dog. I think the massive under bite on todays English Bulldogs is a major flaw and would be better put together with a tight underbite than a 2'' gap. Just my thoughts.

  5. A small underbite is no worry to me. Two of my terriers have slight underbites and it didn't get in way of hunting at all! Of course I'd breed the dog/bitch if they fit the bill on everything else.

Me personally I don't like to keep dogs with a underbite but recently seen one that would pull a patch put of you

We ran some heavy inbred Giroux Ch Booger dogs in the early 2000s that were under shot. Good game little dogs but never had enough mouth to do anything in the big leagues.

Personally, I don't like undershot dogs. As I've seen plenty in my time, but not a single one who I'd consider "special" it "extraordinary". Game plugs at best. If I were still in the game, it'd take a lot for me to consider breeding one. It's a defect I'd prefer not going through the hassle of having to breed out.

But again, just my own personal experience with them. I'm sure there are exceptions out there.
