Leave that bull in the pit

On an interesting note, bettas can get along with other fish, provided they don't look too similar (very long flowing fins) and they aren't gouramis. They just hate each other

LMFAO! OMG you guys have me peeing my pants! That's some funny shit!:D

  4. the bettas you see at the pet store can be considered something like the american staffordshire terrier. bred for looks. the game-bred bettas are imported from thailand. and have no long flowing tails, instead their scales are much harder, and they have short tails like female bettas. they also have sharper teeth. cost about 25-35 bucks compared to 3-5 bucks for veil tails or other show varieties.

i do wonder what would happen if there really were a betta fish bust. lol. I know people who order batches from thailand for "unknown" purposes.

the police need something better to do than this. Plus when you go to walmart or pet smart these fish are cramp up in a container next to each other with nothing blocking the side so they flare out for days and bite the container anyways. Go to there aid first lol!!!!! Its just freaken fishes. Kids kills fishes everyday. One day in this country I bet we cant even fish anymore.

does any one know where i can get decent stuff for an aquarium run for mine? they seem to be allgood when im around but will manage to get off the chain when im at work causing all sorts of mayhem until i get home and see the aftermath.

the secret is to put a mirror in the aquarium so it just sees a reflection of themselves, you should see it its actually how i "swim" mine as a short gametest, before the big day.
i do have a shit of a time trying to give em roids during a keep tho ive lost alot of good fish by slipping and peircing the needle all the way through.
but thats just a part of the game i guess.

I gave up fighting fish for a living a few years back :(,now i run a registry /club we have flirt pole , agility , racing , and weight pulling events:p steroids are banned and we do random drug tests;) , also people aggressive fish are not tolerated , i had a case where a beta got loose from its tank and terrified a group of vegans , owners are expected to keep firm control of all their fish at all times:cool:

you think stillwater kennels sell goldfish hides? my betta doesn't seem to like the swimpole a lot...
and I would like to buy him a nice spiked ring so he can have one of those badass collars showing how tough mine is :D

but for now, I'll just stick to my spider fighting (http://en.wikipilipinas.org/index.php?title=Spider_fighting) untill I know enough about it to buy one, I'm a responsible owner, I research before buying lol

    Cricket fighting

In southern China, particularly around Macau, cricket fighting had been a popular pastime. Many famous hotels around Macau held cricket fights where bets up to thousands of patacas would be waged on a single fight. Prized crickets became famous and actual funeral services would be held for them.
In Beijing, the Association for Cricket Fighting still organizes cricket fighting events and championships.
Though it went on year round, the height of cricket fighting was between the summer solstice and autumn equinox. Banners and flags would be given out to the owners of cricket champions.
While it is illegal in China to gamble on cricket fights, the fights themselves are legal and occur in most big cities in China. Crickets are sold openly in street markets. Chinese Police attempt to control illegal gambling by arresting the gamblers

    care and breeding
Crickets had pedigrees and would be carefully bred by knowledgeable keepers. Keepers kept their crickets in fighting shape with a carefully controlled diet. Ground worms, fish and water chestnuts was a popular diet for protein and nutrients. In some cases, even veterinary care and medicine was administered to keep a cricket in fighting or breeding shape. Also, everyday a new female cricket was provided for the champion, during a time of three months.

anyone up for a lil cricket fighting? :D:D:D

    Nah,

If you want some real action you need to get some good fleas, Never mind the crickets.

I can't say to much because it is a very cut throat culture, But if you can find a good game flea breeder and can get your hands on the Tennessee flesh eater line you will be in good shape :D

Absolutely. Fish people take their fish as seriously as bulldog people, and so do the cricket people, and so do the finch people. They understand that when it comes down to the real, bigger does not necessarily mean better. When it comes down to it, it is the sport and the commitment, and the recognition-if that is what you're into. Don't forget the money either. Plus, those little fish are wicked. You have to know what you're doing to compete there too. The right little fish can costs whole lot of money.
