jones was too much for rua last night. his skill set is going to be hard to deal with in 205. rua looked like shit & had no answer for bones. up next rashad evens too get served.

  3. Jones erased the doubt I had last night. Dominating ANYONE that way is very impressive, let alone a goddamn legend like Shogun. The Light Heavyweight belt has been hot potato for some time now...looks like that shit might be staying put though, not sure who is going to have an answer for ol' Bones.

rashad looked scard last night when he was in the cage. good big beats good small 9/10 times jones is twice as big as rashad. evens couldn't hang with machada & he ain't going to hang with bones. get use to jones being king of 205. scary thing is this kid is 23 & 3 years into mma.

couldn't agree more. possiblefight in the works for them to meet. silva probably wouldn't fight another 205 that wasn't a champion. could one of these 2 be the next fighter to hold a belt in 2 different weight classes?

evans is gonna get hurt. he is coming off of a long lay off and injury just like shogun. evans i my opionion ought to have a few tune up fights to knock the rust off so jones doesn't clean his clock.

No doubt Jones has skill, but has he really been proven, not even close, lets see how game he is when the sh**t hits the fan , for me he is still a hard mouth.

  9. The UFC is plotting on Jones/Silva believe that shit. It just has to be handled correctly, they can't just jump on it right now. Jones will fight Evans, Silva will fight whoever, maybe after that they make the match. Maybe two fights then make it. I'd like to see it sooner than later so Anderson's age doesn't come into question against such a young fighter. Give no chance for that excuse. Will be a monster fight, bigger than GSP because that one has the built-in excuse of GSP has no business at 185. I can't wait to see Jones/Silva. REVENGE CHUTE BOXE!!! Hahahaha...and like Rojas said, Jones has not been tested yet. The closest thing to tested was against Stephan Bonner who just hung in there and pushed Jones to get worn out some...but never was Jones not having his way. It's easy to fight when you kick everyone's ass, but when the hammer becomes the nail you find out what's what. Jon Jones may be good enough to not have to worry about that, but everyone will tune in to find out, that's a fact.

"but has he really been proven" he is a proven winner & a proven 205 champion what more can jones prove? why does he need to be skulldrug to prove anything ? he just whooped a "legend" & took his belt with ease.

  12. What more can Jones prove? How he handles adversity. How he handles taking a shot and having to recover. How he handles going beyond the 3rd. There's plenty he can prove. He doesn't need to be skulldrug, but I for one would like to see how he responds to a fight not being 100% start-to-finish Jon Jones highlight reel footage. He may be good enough that he never needs to though, he sure as hell hasn't so far! Please don't mistake this in any way as disrespect for Jon Jones, he's as exciting a fighter as the MMA world has ever seen and the sky is the limit. Keep in mind though, not too long ago Lyoto Machida was the invincible fighter of the moment. Those come along constantly, it goes in cycles. The invincible fighter always gets beat though, and that's the great thing about the sport.

By the way, using the quotations around legend when referring to Shogun isn't really necessary. At 205 pounds he is a legend, if he retires today he'll be remembered as an animal and one of the real top of the food chain fighters in that weight class.

Just my two cents, spend em' how you like.

the man proved all he needed to prove. He's gonna destroy Rashad and Silva will not move up, maybe a couple title defences and Jones could take a stab at a HW since nobody else wants to move around, just homestead in a division (GSP, Silva)

Rashad better shoot the world's fastest double-leg on Jones. Rashad looked nervous at the fight, not sure if it showed on the broadcast but he looked nervous. Silva will move up if the money is right. Most any fight can be made with the money on the table, and you best believe if Lorenzo Fertitta says he would love to see that fight, there will be a fucking pile of it as tall as Jones or Silva. I'd like to see Jones go HW eventually...they say he walks around 230 or so, and he's young so he'll fill out with age I'm sure. He has the potential to lock down 205 for years though honestly, I just don't know who's going to stop him at this point.

I didn't think about this but Randy C. is coming back to fight the Dragon. could the winner possibly fight the winner of the Evans, Jones fight?
here's one for the Randy C. haters.;)
Randy may be old but he can scrape for an old guy. No Jones hadn't been taken deep into the water. But he is a creative fighter and won't just stand around trying to measure the other fighter. Interesting to see what the management at the UFC has got planned.

hate to see Randy get fucked up..he can scrap, but it doesn't take much to fuck an old dude up.... but then again he's probably still doing HRT.

agree.there are a few around that cud cause him probs.i think a real good wrestler well versed in striking is the only way tho.i havnt seen jones get tagged o the button properly yet.maybe thats wats needed.

  19. Rojas

Not hatin or anything, but no one seems to hold the LHW title for too long, and i dont think Jones will be the exception, he his chin or game has not been tested yet, I can see him having problems with Rampage,Lyotto,Antonio Noguira or even Thiago Silva.

one thing for sure jones will throw something, he's always puting fists or elbows in the other guys face. rampage would be awsome fight (i think) if rampage comes to fight and not coast. since liddel had the belt it hadn't stayed anywhere too long. ufc sets up a title shot within a few months, which i'am ok with.:D
