tug-of-war = bad?

The first toy I give a pup is an old sock with a knot or 2 in it. 2 or 3 pups on one sock pulling every which way is amusing to no end.

Always played tug, never had a problem.

As long as you initiate the tug of war and end it I see no reason why this should lead to any problems.

  3. this is just hilarious! only because it's true :) I have two APBT's AND a cat--who they adore terrorizing. But don't feel sorry for the kitty, he's a bengal and gets his fair share of licks in. I play tug-of-war with both of my dogs (one is 8 years and the other is 4 months), and actually have no release command. However, they are very VERY aware of the energy shift I create when I am through playing. They are such a sensitive and eager to please breed.

use a command like spit it and be dominant.
