Moving to an apartment temporarily no longer than a year that allows only one pet, I’m just bringing my favorite a 3yo 1xw female. Here’s the problem it’s an apartment with other dogs not staying in the same house but complex, I can handle her she’s not big at all I just don’t want to make others feel uncomfortable with my dog tugging trying to “play” with their dog. My question is I’ve seen some training videos on YouTube how to make your dog heel and not tug on leash like would that really work with a high drive hound. Not worried about her being stuck in apartment because there are plenty of trails to hike close by I try to stay active.

Well after claiming she has already got one under her belt and is a "high drive hound" it would seem to me that your efforts to even try will pretty much be like "pushing shit uphill" lol...(difficult and unlikely to succeed). How about simply picking your bitch up, smile and say hello to the other owners then go about your business.

you are already at a disadvantage with this dog. you likely will not ever be able to 're-program' the dog, if that is your intent. you can't control the mind, but can control physically in public with a wire muzzle (which still allows open mouth breathing and drinking), plus choke or prong collar, used properly via Koehler method of dog training.

Yea I know I’m at a disadvantage she’s just the route I want to take my yard when I get everything situated, I don’t like making deals with other people to take care of hounds I’ll rather sell them because it never works or mines don’t get the same care, plus I just need a hound around me gives me something to do.

Sure is possible. Here is 1 person with champs and grand champs walk on the markets without a line, ignore all animals and persons. He dont not have all dogs from puppy age. Only thing maybe count is, if is smart or dumb dog.

not at all an inference from me Bangman to get rid of this dog or any other…just suggestion about controlling the dog in public. dog bites/injuries on neighbors’ dogs, dead cats etc can be expensive. I know this...

-well documented a game-dog (game bred, game proven etc.) is not necessarily dog aggressive. just as dog aggression has little to do with gameness.

-but considering Bangman’s dog is high drive and has had action before, I absolutely would not take a chance allowing this dog around others without muzzle, training collar/leash..

-that said, never too late to practice obedience training.
