Theres people that have told me otherwise, but ive heard it straight from several xpats that its bullshit you cant own property without being a citizen, telling me folks do it everyday. American wages living in mexico? Hell, youll be rich.....lol

 

You will eventually want to go back to the US, I guarantee you that, so bear that in mind when you invest.

If you are not accustomed to desert living then don't even consider this. Some people say "yeah, its 120 degrees in the summer so this or that," but to actually feel 120 degrees give or take on a daily basis for months on end is truly an experience. I am from the desert and one time I traveled as a child to the imperial valley and then became aware of the subtle but noticeable differences in different desert climates. That desert is definitely hotter on average than my desert.

 

How does it compare to pheonix or palm springs?

..ya will be liveing in an oven,,,and a-lot of dogs don't like the humid weather..and tg poss; saw that first-hand..in saying that it's cheap if it was in the states it would be jumped on and long gone..if it was in the states it prob; would'nt be for sale...lol....that type of weather can have a-lot of problems with dogs..but can acustomise ........

 

With time,people and animals adapt to the environment they live in..I'm a former marine and the weather in Iraq was tough initially when i arrived,but I adapted so Mexicali weather is no problem for me and my dogs will adapt after a while

I agree with Adapting to the envirment. I myself would be thinking about are the Powers that be in Mexico going to let me live in peace. Crime is everywhere. However, I would do my to stay to myself,
Keep things on the down low, and hope that Those Powers dont Tax me too much cash.

 

Not worth it. I spent a couple days in a Mexican Jail. They were waiting to chop me up and part me out to the highest bidder. Luckily a very good friend ran past a front desk and guard and saw me. $17 I was out but the day before they wouldnt let me go for $1700.
should add I was just walking down the street when they grabbed me, Everyone that went in had some crazy story of why they were there. one guy was changing a flat tire

 

the Mexicans I know moved away from decent jobs in the US to go back there to make min wage(Calexico specifically). I don't think its perfect there but the only complaint from them I read about on FB is the heat and small annoyances about the government. The crazy violence.......don't hear shit about that, ever. Im sure it happens but if you try to fit in and don't get flashy maybe it would work.

 

I met a "former marine" not too long ago at work and he turned out to be about the biggest pussy I met in a while. The work I do is demanding because of the demands of production, and in the snow it can be outright dangerous, but as tough as this marine purported himself to be and with the PTSD and other assorted gripes this "marine" coulnd't handle the constant pressure of real life situations.

What I am trying to say is that being a "former marine" hardly has no bearing on whether you will be able to handle the weather on a daily basis without someone ordering you to do so and with much more temparate climates available to your free life.
