Well I say it coming and people didn't want to believe

 

he's the best heavyweight for sure but I'd NEVER give a heavyweight best Pound 4 Pound, the athleticism and competition just isnt there to give it

its like giving a catchweight dog best pound 4 pound, the class has no business being mentioned as anything best

BJ Penn or Anderson Silva is best pound 4 pound

 

MinorThreat, I agree with you about the heavyweights and pound for pound but you must be high saying Penn or Silva are the best pound for pound. Both great fighters but the best pound for pound is El Matador.

 

I second the vote for Anderson Silva, but if there was an actual tournament like UFC was in the beginning with no weight classes I would probably bet on Rich Franklin...

 

Best pound for pound fighter in the business is Faber. Hands down.

 

I figured I would've gotten hammered for the Franklin comment already lol

yes I know that Silva's beat his ass twice...I just keep a glimmer of hope in the back of my mind for him

how could this be when Tyson Griffin schooled Faber, he ran through him easily. Tyson has been fighting UFC since that fight at 155, which is out of his weight class and doing very well. He's a natural 145 as is Frankie Edgar who would also tool Faber at 145.

Kid is also a better fighter then Faber and would also be another possible pound 4 pound best. Faber is very good but not even top of his weight, let along pound 4 pound. Faber fights in an organization that caters to him as he's good looking, educated, well spoken, he's a great poster boy for the sport and a reason why they keep a fairly weak division for him IMO

UFC needs a 145 division, their are plenty of talent in that class, they already have Griffin and Edgar, they chould easily bring Faber over, he's not getting paid high dollar where he's at now

Tyson has since went on the fight much higher level competition then Faber has and also 10lbs over his natural weight

 

I think Silva is the best pound for pound (I'm surprised noone said GSP), but I think that if it ever played out Franklin would have a shot...plus he looks like Jim Carey. Im a traditionalist, and in a time where I can't answer Matt Hughes or Randy Couture I just like Franklin...even though Silva destroyed him lol!

Seriously, I think 185 (where he usually fights) is a good weight. That weight can go bigger as Franklin will against Matt Hamill at 205. We'll see how how looks in that one. Sometimes I wish that they'd go back to the old days of Ken Shamrock and Hoyce Gracie and play it out with no weight classes...then the pound for pound discussion would be over.
