In the present day, i often hear people (wont say names) say my dog is ch or gr ch and such and those titles are not for pulling or show, I can understand when these events were legal how they aquired their titles, but how do they do it now days, do they just put it up in their peds as show ?....................hope this makes sense.

  3. any title in caps, is a box dog title.... Gr. Ch. is usually confirmation, and Ace, or Ace of Ace is weight pull

In reference to dog-matching, with no established organization to report to, and as far as I know, no one handing out ch or gr ch certificates, its all "take it as you will". Anybody can say there dog did this, and that, and without having a sanctioning body to prove they didn't.....well?

I'm curious however, how do you know which avenue a dog championed out in? "And these titles are not from pulling and show". Sounds like a risky assumption on your part, and you know what they say about ASSuming.

Lots of people won their titles legitimately, but most of them are BS. See pedigrees of dogs on the internet which are supposed Gr Ch Ace monsters, and no one has heard of them, or what they went into?

OTC rolls do not count as contract shows.

Why people, even those who won titles legitimately, make their information so widely known on the net, is beyond me. Some people just don't care about their safety, or are too stupid to realize the danger they are putting themselves, and their dog in.

You also have dogs that within their local sanctioning body hold CH titles in many of today's current events - hangtime - treadmill race. Alot of different bodys in even recognize points acquired from other states as sort of a collateral agreement. These are nothing more than local associations who sponsor and stage events to help promote the positive image of the pitbull. Join one. We need more.

  6. so are the dogs in your "pups for sale" ped that are listed as 3xw, 3xws for hangtime, etc?

You know, I have wondered about that too. You are still seeing present day dogs marked 2xw and 3xw and if there is no overseeing governing body to police this , then anyone can add it to their dog and that makes them to where you cant tell what is legit and what is not? Course maybe this now means they can pull 2 times weight? LOL

Lol...a 3xw will always be a Ch, and a 5xw a Gr Ch. These are titles serious dog people still strive for, in spite of the downfall of the SDJ. The SDJ couldn't exactly prevent dishonest reporting, so there isn't a whole lot of difference between reported and unreported matches. Mr. Kelly certainly can't verify every report the SDJ received. The only people that really know what happens at these things are the people who are there, and rarely does a story fully corroborate even among them. The bottom line is that unless you were there for all the shows, you'll have to take somebody's word that what happened really did, in fact, happen. Just keep in mind that there is just as much bullshit in the world of illegal dog fighting as there is in the world of politics. A wise man once said that the only time a dogman tells the truth is when he calls the other dogman a liar.
