Well said, This is a matter of fact. For every battle cross that has ever earned the right to be called a Champion, or GR Champion , there are thousands of Apbt's that have earned that tiltle as well as produced great pitdogs, family pets ect..

 

Some yanks couldnt bite through a paper bag though dusty wheres staff generally can ... like they said though once you breed from that first cross things revert back to normality and it goes down hill

 

Even though pirate etc was a good dog i still can’t understand why they used a bull terrier cross in the first place

 

Yeah there no way over all staff can bite harder then yank.no way.

Not sure what you'v seen , but I think I would find it hard to find 5 full SBTs to have beaten APBT ,, lots of SBT got beaten in the early 1980s , in short order , and in general I don't think they are rough , maybe for 15 minutes , but don't seem to be able to keep it up , there is no way as a breed can they bite like a APBT

 

I am not and never will try and say percentage wise that staffs bite better than yanks and they are no way in the same league as them but i have seen yanks that couldnt bite that hard ...

 

Just for the record dusty i am just trying to get my head around why they used staffs etc x yanks in the old days .... was it because the first crosses improved bite etc or was it because they had no real access to good yanks at the time so used what was available ...i think in the main it was the later ?

 

It was never done to improve the APBT, always seems to be a SBT bitch bred to APBT, as for bite , Iv not seen any SBT who can bite better than APBTs , does anyone know 10 pure SBTs who beat a APBT ?

Godfrey's Ch."Rocky" won over 3 APBT , lost to SBT ,

 

Henrys richmond pedigree doesnt go too far back but shows what i would think was EBT influence as do some old henry/colby/armitage/kominski/clarke dogs presumbley through the influence of shared gene pools ....ive seen woodcote wonder listed in a colby dogs pedigree as an ancestor...this dog was showstock EBT and was wondering if anybody knew if this was correct ?.ive asked a few places but never had an answer.
For those wondering if theirs a market for working ebt from what ive seen online they have defo gained a following with a few breeders popping up and mostly working among their own stock...poor head structure still crops up a lot but not to the level of showstock dogs.
