The Confusion between Old Family, OFR and OFRN

Discussion in 'APBT History' started by rocksteady, May 19, 2005.

    rocksteady I'll drink to that..

I know awhile back there was a discussion on Old Family Red Noses' and R. Stratton books, and how the OFRN came about

This was taken from R. Stratton's book, "This Is The American Pit bull Terrier"
and it will better illustrate exactly what each "strain -family" is and how they apply to each other

Old Family : Family of dogs that was imported from Ireland (note they do not give specific colors of the dogs) Some strains that were founded by using these dogs where Colby, Feeley, Lightner and Corvino bloodlines..

Old Family Reds: a SEGMENT of the OF doogs that when kept pure were either red, red and white, or white in color

Old family Red Nose: Segment of the OFR strain that when kept pure showed a red nose

I hope this clears some things up and gives a better understanding of what we really mean when we say our dogs come from OFR or OFRN lines
