  1. Bill Russel is the best ever. He has the most titles and went up against arguable the most dominant player in Wilt.

true indeed he wasnt hyped as much, but thats what hype is........hype! I have to agrre the dream is no Bill Russell, and the knicks had a decent team, but look at the title holders. Bird played with Mchale, Parrish, & Johnson, Magic played with Kareem, Worthy, Cooper, & Scott. All I'm saying is on many of those teams if you had to start a franchise and you couldn't have the num 1 player, the num 2 option wouldnt be all that bad. Pat never really had that num 2 option.

  3. Ok. I apologize for insulting you. Here is my point. John Starks was a good defender and a streaky shooter. Charles Oakley is a border line hall of famer. Charles Smith, Rowlando Black man, and Allen Houston late were top flight players. I'll give you that Charlie Ward had a D game but no offense. Fair. Hubert Davis was a shooter. ANthony Mason was an all star caliber player. With all that, he should have gotten at least one ring. That is my point.

I would agree with you on most of your points, But it's hard to beat that 6 time champion! Lol remember this........ "Like Mike, If I could be like Mike"! & that is coming from A DIEHARD knick fan. Mike & Reggie Miller are my least two favorite players. One more point I will try and make is that most nba fans and basketball historians would take Pippen over EVERYONE of those guys you just mentioned, in most cases Rodman to.

  5. Cannot argue that. Loved Rodman but he has only 2 rings I believe with the bulls. I could be wrong. I would take Rodman over the roster. Not Pippen though.

Rodman has 5. He was one of the original bad boys in detroit with isiah, dumars, laimbeer, dantley, the microwave, they won 2 (89.90) then three straight with the bulls (96,97,98)

One Wilt was better than Russel, Celtics were just a better team. And back then the players weren't very skilled and competition was low. The centers we small and soft. There is a reason they dominated the way they did. Hakeem Olajuwon would have destroyed Russel. So would most of the centers in the 90's including Ewing. How many titles a player wins in a team sport doesn't make them a more skilled player, the celtics have almost always had talent that was head and shoulders above everyone else. Also without Jordan Pippen and Rodman don't goto the hall of fame. That's coming from the mouth of a huge scottie pippen fan from the midwest. Pippen was the ultimate role player but we saw what he was without MJ when he left to play baseball. Ewing was a great player and you can't take that away from him bc he got beat most his career by a player who couldn't be beat. No one could be Jordan, you can't single out Ewing

I agree with most of this post other than russell being better than olajuwon. Its not even close. The players back in the 60's and 70's simply were very good compared to the players today. For one Bob Cousy was considered the top pg in the league and couldn't even dribble with his left hand. He wouldn't even of made a good college team in 2k12. Russell was a slower smaller less athletic. And less skilled player than oljuwon who could shoot pass dribble and any other aspect of the game better than Russell. He also prob has better footwork than anyone to ever do it. I want you to go back and watch the film on those old games and then imagine how much the new players would dominate. Wilt is one of the few that could compete still

I still watch basketbal but it was ruined with all the fouls and the introduction of the 3pt shot. Just look at the hawks and joe johnson. They played great all season to resort to the worst percentage shot possible in every playoffs. Johnson is a pushover you'll see in brooklyn. I'm a huge celtics fan but picking up jason terry isn't gonna help their cause

I don't like how they call fouls so much now. I liked ball in the 90's best, def don't mind the 3ball though.

  12. I know about the Piston era. I thought 2 were from the Bulls.

  13. I think I can single out anyone I want. In my opinion, Ewing was a huge underachiever. That is what I think.

As far as the Russel argument. Wilt was a better scorer and rebounder. On the defensive side, it was all Mr. Bill. And Russel has all the rings. That means more then scoring 100 in a game.

As far as the dream. He was a great talent. The unorthodox style he had made him a dominant offensive force. His d sucked. His rebounding numbers are not great for a player of that talent. SHaq was better.

What! Look at the all time shot blocking list! He was a much better defender than shaq, did u even watch basketball in the 90's. Shaq fouled out almost every game. Hakeem statistically is one of the best "PLAYERS" ever. He is easily on of the best post. Bill Russell was a good defender and rebounder but he wasn't very good on offense. He was not a better player than Wilt. He has more rings bc he was on a better team NOT because he was better. Rodman isn't better than Malone buthe has more rings. The Bulls were better than the Jazz.

Ps 5x defensive 1st team means he was the best at his position and as for shaq having better numbers. He averaged almost an entire block more than shaq. He used to dominate shaq in head to head match-ups. :akeem was the best at his position imo but its debatable. Its not debatable that Russell is the best lol

  18. This is my all time team. Point Magic. 2 Michael Jordan. 3 Larry Bird. 4 Moses Malone. 5. Tim Duncan. 6 man. Bernard King if Larry needs a blow. John Stockton if Magic does. Dennis Rodman if either of the bigs does. Offense, Reggie Miller. Defense, Gary Peyton or Bill Russel.

    Match up friends.
