I saw on here where someone stated that Boudreaux dogs run out of gas. Some of the Eli stuff Boudreaux had can't win against certain dogs in the heat. Yet I saw a Boudreaux dog that Boudreaux had sold to a young man that beat Mayfield in close to three hours and never drew a breath. Boudreaux did handle the fight for the man. I saw bullyson quit. He fought into his son and ran out of gas. Some people claim to have been their and he didn't quit. They need to get their eyes checked. That was the stupidest thing two men can do. Fight a dog at his son. Who ever loses will brand the bloodline as cold stuff. That is unless he dies scratching (which is rare). I've seen several game boudreaux dogs fought. They have to be in the right conditioner's hands. Most of them are cold weather dogs. A lot of Boudreaux dogs I saw get beat in the heat could have beat the dog that beat them on a cool day in the right hands. Randy Fox

Randy....that is a great post! Most dogmen don't realize that not every dog will act the same in every condition.

From what I use to hear about Tex-Mex dogs. A lot of them fight similar to some of the Boudreaux dogs. If you didn't have a very strong defensive fighting dog. You were going to get whipped. Like all bloodlines of dogs they are not all game but some of them are. The percentage of true gamedogs is low on all bloodlines. When put to a true test no matter what anyone tells you the percentage is low. Everyone seems to like certain bloodlines and hate certain bloodlines. You might be surprized how many of your dogs will quit if you test them hard. So a person needs to be real careful with their criticism. But you can't ever stop the mouthing. Everyone is an expert and their stuff is the only good stuff. I bought most of the dogs I fought after watching them fight some. They came from lots of different yards with different bloodlines. I got fooled sometime but not usually. It is a complicated game to play. Most of the time I think I played it pretty well but I still had some quit. Play nice and be polite. Randy Fox

I'm not very good with computers so I'm not sure if this will work. I tried to scan in part of an old Journal.... letters to the editor section. With all due respect Mr. Fox.... the late Don Mayfield seems to have left all that out in his match report. Mayfield told me himself that Bullyson quit.... I also heard that he was picked up. In either case... I'm kind of wondering if you might know why he didn't say he quit at the time.

I think in pitdog report he was trying to be polite and later got tired of all the bull and stated the true way it went. Don has my half brothers name 'Larry Fuchs' as if he attended the fight in that article and he wasn't there and my name isn't in that article and I was there. Lots of wrong stuff was printed through the years that were mistakes in that magazine. My Buddy Charles Adkisson and Frank Carver were there. We still talk dogs often and have discussed it many times. They both saw what I saw.

I couldn't find Weldon Stocktons name on there and he ws there and I can think of about 20 or so people from Texas and Oklahoma that were thee he also didn't mention. Eubanks had a car load of Tulsa dogmen with him and not one of them is mentioned either. Is Bennett Clayton mentioned?

The whole Bullyson deal that stands out the most 'like I said'. People who are suppose to be top dogmen fighting a father against a son is a 'lose'' lose' proposition. No matter how it ends. Unless both dogs die and it is a draw. What are the chances of that. As far as I'm concerned it was a dumb thing to do. What if Bullysom had only been fought against the Clouse dog he destoyed. What would be the talk today. It just adds to what the public thinks about Pitdog men. Dumb-Dumb-Dumb.
