Ahhhh haha hahahahah....true true, after I met my exhusbands sister and her kids, I thought thank GOD for birth control, I'm NEVER lettin that happen to me. Well like my Grampa always said "Don't spit up cuz it falls in your face"...but at least I got my two sweet girls.....

I always said I never wanted kids b/c of how badly kids around me behaved. Screaming, yelling, jumping around, etc. Drove me nuts. But now that I am getting older, the thought of having a critter of my own crosses my mind from time to time. I consider it temporary insanity! lol. But seriously, I talked to a lot of ppl who didn't care for kids but said after they had one they adored their own, but still weren't so hot on other ppl's kids. So I don't really think the dislike it toward the kid itself, but more on it's behaviour. No one likes an ill minded kid. Except maybe it's mother! lol.

And don't ever let these mothers fool you, they don't like their ill behaved child either....they just for what ever reason choose not to deal with the behavior, they would much rather someone else!!!!!!!!

Fantasy whippins. That's when you know society is going down hill when you no longer daydream about the hunk next door, but instead daydream about how you could take that little $#!&* in the booth behind you over your knee & give him what for!

But seriously, I remember back in the day if the neighbor or relative caught you doing something wrong, they wouldn't hesitate to take their belt off & give you a few licks of the old leather - provided they caught you in the act & you were on their land of course. Then after they whipped you, they told you mom when she got home & SHE did it!

But I guess we were lucky - we just got switched. My husband told me he had neighbors that would shoot them w/ rock salt or bird shot!

Kids are alot like dogs...They are a direct reflection of you and what you have taught them, they need a pack leader and if you don't step up to that position, somebody else will.

Occasionally they also need to be muzzeled(Just Kidding).


I have a 16yr old and a 9yr old that could count the spankings they have gotten on one hand, but if they ever pulled some crazy crap like that story you can believe me that I'd stomp a mudhole and walk it dry.

I love your mom. That is great. My grandma maternal side raised me till five. She used a hot wheels track or shaving strap. Worked great.

Mother well she would get drunk or messed up on drugs and beat and molest for what ever shit she dreamed up. She is a poor example of a parent and use of punishment. The type that messes up the system.

My dad who I lived with till adulthood was a Preacher. I would rather have my ass beat then to listen to Preaching for hours over something I did. That was his method. Both the paternal and maternal Grandpa's used the shaving strap. Great Grandpa used a rod about a half inch around and appoximately 4 foot long. He could wear your ass out with it too. Grandma B sent you to grandpa and that was it. If you were stupid enough to try something that would result in it then you got what was comming. A few times I felt that getting spanked was worth the crime. Like when I beat the shit out of Kenny Martin for picking on my cousins. But I didn't get in trouble as I thougt I would. Grandpa said kick his ass good son and don't you dare loose. lol The fear of what that don't loose meant drove me harder. Kenny was 3 years older than me but in the same grade. He was a big bully. Now he is a old drunk fat peice of shit. Anyway. I am a firm believer in spankings. I could have turned out like my mother had I not had something to guage right from wrong off of. She sure as hell never set a worth while example. I ended up very much like my dad and Grandparents and nothing at all like my mother. But I had that example from five till eleven years of age. And that knowing right from wrong and the what could happen for wrong doing kept me from becomming any thing of the sort.

My Dawgs: No, I didn't have any older brothers. I was the eldest & got the spankings for both what I did & what my brother did. Because I was the responsible one & should have kniown what he was doing. Gad I hated that.

Attilla: Yea, there are a lot of scum bag parents who ruin it for those who geniunely want to displine their kids. There is a difference between a spanking & a beating & there is a difference between punishment & discipline. As a former military man I'm sure you know what I mean. But some ppl don't. They automatically think spanking = beating, which is not the case.

Chia: Excellent post. Kids do need a leader & IMO that's why you have so many kids gang-banging, etc. They need leadership & a need to feel like they fit in. It can be a 2 kid "pack" like Eric Harris & Dylan Kliebold, or a 30 kid "pack" like your neighborhood Crips or Bloodz. But if they do not have guidance in the home, they're going to find it somewhere & we may not like where they find it.

How do you know most children are not? If you don't like them in general, I doubt you are around many to judge. Maybe your coming off as not liking them effects their behavior as well. Just like one of your dogs might act different if someone who doesn't like the breed was around it.

Those proverbs you quoted are scary. I don't believe they are the word of God, at least not mine. That, or they are taken out of context. I don't take a rod to my kids, and I can assure you there will be no tolerence for drugs, alcohol, or any of the likes in my home as long as I live. I can strip their world down to nothing, or build it up with things they love. It is hard, but I am determined to raise them right.

Ahhhh! You don't have any huh? nor AM... hmmm... It's true. I was never one to want to hold the new baby the other girls would gawk over. I didn't dislike them, I just didn't care for them. Your own are different. It's like night and day, so is my perception of all other children and parents. I judge people now by how their children are, and how they parent their children... a true test of character. Now I adore them, and whenever I see a little baby, I want another, but I won't lol. It's biology too, your hormones are different. The world is different in every way. And then look at the pain and fear in your childs eyes while you raise the rod, and tell me you don't think there is a better way.

Well, I have children, and I do not spare the rod, nor do I spoil my children. As a matter of fact, I just had to spank one of them a while ago. I trust the bible over any modern gibberish. Also, my oldest girl would tell you that spankings work better than any other punishment that has been tried on her. There is a difference between beatings and spankings, but I do spank, and if I spank, I dont play with it. All you have to do is look at how children acted 40 years aga, and how that act today, and you will see very clearly what the "no spank" philosophy has done. Oh, and my children do not go and abuse other children, they are not selfish, self-absorbed brats who have no respect for authority, or their elders. As a matter of fact, last month my oldest was saving up for a toy she wanted, and after saving her allowance for 2 months, she brought it all and said she wanted to give it to Sandra(a little girl we help support in Brazil)!! I also teach them from the Bible, and I believe that, and following it's teachings, is why my children are like they are. And yes I agree, look at the children's behavior and it will tell allot about what is going on in the house. That's why it bothers me to see a minister of the Gospel have children who are running around acting like hookers and hoodlums!! Something wrong there!

I did have a child once. She was very good kid. I like you set firm boundries. I did get spanked but when I did out side from my mother I deserved them. They didn't come often. However you look in the 12 year old kids eyes that just got done hiking your car, raping some girl or pulling off some violent crime and tell me where their parents didn't come through. Don't look at good parents like yourself and look to those that didn't sit down with their kids and have conversations or tell them the boundries. And once they cross them what to do then? I never said use a broom stick and beat the shit out of your kids. But if a child does something wrong take resposibility and use corrective measurements. Let the punishment fit the deed. Just as every one should recieve. I may not have kids now but I did once have a child with a bad heart. I also finished raising others kids in the army. Some took some real hard work to line them out and some had to be kicked out due to some very poor behavioural problems.

By the way Riptora. I love arguing with you. You get so fired up like me but in the other corner all balled up and ready to attack. You can work the bag over now and say ooooh he makes me sooo mad that crazy hick. lol much love to you little sister. Fiesty fire ball. I have to replace my bag I just tore the lining out of my 200 pound bag. Not because I was angry but because it happens about every two years. Just gives out. you can thank today's permissive and politically correct society for a lot of the social problems we see today. not to mention the garbage hollywood pumps into young people's heads. and of course these worthless parents who want to be their children's "friends" rather than actually raise them to be decent human beings.
