German shepherd are unequivocally superior to Dutch shepherd, Belgian Malinois, Belgian shepherd and king shepherd

I tend to agree, a good working line GS is a real keeper compared to the others.

Mals have a higher prey drive. Even though both are prone to hip dysplasia, the german shephard is prone more than the Mal. German shephards are a little less aggressive than a Mal. Mals are slightly easier to train. As far as working, the german shephard is better.

Michelle, it all depends. There are more than a few examples which could contradict your points, to include health issues. I have a GS with high prey aggression, and high defense, high athleticism - and a very good hip/elbow record among ancestry. I did not breed him to my also awesome Mal in order to 'slow' the pups down, but to amplify the mental and physical traits I value in a dog. Pups so far are showing well.

I think both breeds are fabulous. I just think the MAL is a little more crazy...LOL.....What bothers me is that over the years, is the unethical breeding of the GS. This is not targeted at you GK1. Just generally I see the breed with the inability to stand, muscular disorders. It's very sad.

my experience is the other way round ,,I find the working versions of Dutch and Belgium shepherds are far better than the German Shepherd, its too hard getting good tough GSDs

What do you mean by unethical? I can't think of another breed which has been 'unethically' bred as much the "pit bull", and it's endless (non-working) morphs.

That may be the case with you personally, but is not as common as you and Michele may contend. How many Mals/Dutch/GS have you owned, worked?

Backyard breeders. That's what I mean by unethical.

backyard breeder is another ill defined concept in the dog world, much like “pit bull dog”. so what of the officially licensed kennel which churns out dozen or more litters per year with no screening of buyers, and maybe a little massaging of the papers here and there? this is ethical breeding?

if you were to instead criticize the show line breeders for perpetuating dogs with little to no workability, nor the physical structure/drives conducive to the labor intended for that working breed, then I would agree with ‘unethical breeding’.

great, unregistered dogs have come from back yard; as do sick, lame and useless ones from from professional kennels.

I see your point. My thoughts....the official licensed kennel that churns out litters with no screening, no health checks...that to me is not ethical.
I agree with you with regard to the show line breeders.
I always have been of the mindset that breeders should only breed for the betterment of that breed.

Iv had more GSDs than Dutch ,,and found the GSD poor ,,,Mali and Dutch are very common over here , for the reason people can't get hard GSDs ,, Iv no real interest in shepherds , just kept them as guard dogs , too much show blood in most GSDs

Dusty Road your less than stellar experiences with German Shepherds are not uncommon. A old dog man I know refers to the Malinois as the AK-47 of the working dogs...not necessarily a compliment, nor an insult. ...easy for masses to train with; point and shoot, fire and forget, low maintenance yada yada etc..

Some of the working line GS coming from the Czech Republic these days are hard and driven, and produce the same.
