Damn, sorry to hear, if the dog thief makes it up north we could spot him, we are keeping an eye open though.

  6. DMMK, I really hate to have to tell you this but I thought you would like to know.

I was just randomly looking through the forum and saw a pic of Spud and I immediately recognized him.

I found him about the time of your first post about him being taken. I was driving and saw him laying on the side of the road so I stopped to check on him. He had been hit by a car and his chain was wrapped around a pole, but it had enough slack for him to reach the road. He was beat up pretty bad, so I just unwrapped the chain and put him in my car (chain and all). I tried to get him to my vet, but we didnt' make it.

He did have on a collar, but there wasn't any ID on it. I went back to where I found him and knocked on doors, but no one knew where he had come from. One guy said he had been chained there for a full day and night. The chain was very worn, and his collar too tight, so I assumed someone had kept him chained in their yard for a large portion of his life and gave up looking for the owner.

I have a male pit that is about 1 year old now, and he is my pride and joy. He's part of the family. I also take in abused and neglected pit bulls from time to time and get them socialized and healthy so that they can go to a good loving home. My point is that I understand how difficult it would be to lose him. I would be ready to kill if someone took one of my dogs, which is why I don't leave them outside on chains.

Again, I'm really sorry about the loss. If you have any questions for me feel free tp ask. I'm sorry I don't have any pictures of Spud or anything like that so that you know for sure it was him, but I am 99.9% sure it was. He was a very unique looking dog.

QUote :I found him about the time of your first post about him being taken. He had been hit by a car and his chain was wrapped around a pole, but it had enough slack for him to reach the road. They stole his house to, it sounds like ur insinuating that the dog ran off with the chain and its their fault. Well were did the dog house go.

get a mod to see if you can get this guys IP addy, find out where the IP addy is coming from. If it is anywhere near where you are from I would call the police to see if they can get any info or even a search warrant. seems like someone (or himself) saw the dog thought it was inhumane to leave him outside and decided to "liberate" the dog...2 things could have happened, the dog is dead (because these inhumane bastards think that killing a dog is for their own good) or the dog is in his home or in a neighbor's home...where it is sleeping next to a golden doodle and a cat waiting for the inevitable to happen.

Man you guys always assume the worst maybe the only reason the person join up was to reply to this post. It is probably their first and last. Dog was definitely found under suspicious circumstances but has said they would answer any questions to the person concerned let them work it out. It is reactions like yours that stop honest people doing the right thing.

dog house was missing...guess the dog was running away from home and knew it needed a house to stay in. He then decided the middle of the street was a good place to set up shop but the damn termites ate his house, as he stood there in disbelief a car hit him and this very ethical young man happened to be passing by....yea sounds about right. Bulldogs are awesome, bulldog owners should keep a guardian breed around just incase a bulldog wants to take his house and run away from home again or if another ethical person comes by.

  15. HORSE SHiT STORY! Chain and all.....wtf! Go hug your trees in the yard and leave the man alone!

  16. Believe what you want to. The truth is what I said. I don't know where this guy lives, but I work in the southwest atlanta area and am a government employee. I'll leave it at that.

  17. If I had taken the dog then why in the heck would I have posted anything? I thought the guy might like to know that his dog is not suffering somewhere and being fought or used as a bait dog. Trust me, I know the kinds of things that are being done in this part of town.

Dont just to conclusions, many people view this site that arent registered and dont post so its possible. That being said i agree that its def worth checking out if the mods are even able to give out that sort of info. i was pretty suspicious when i read the post but its still wrong to point fingers without any proof whatsoever
