Oh my gee, not going to say anything but man oh man someone should have hush they moufs LOL

I just dont think steroids should be used though, maybe if it could be used for a recovery typed thing if said animal was banged up bad, and needs help to get back to strength, like how they use them in humans to treat illness or injury but to make it compete better, nah.
I may be wrong on it but its just my opinion, I think these dogs with right conditioning, right feed, right minds, and good owners will do amazing things and dont need them to compete, to heal if they dont want to quit and lived up to their true gameness, then by all means do it a favor and let it survive and come back and reap its rewards for being a real bulldog.

Just my opinion though, I dont know nothing about much but figured I would pop in lol

i've never used steroids nor my dogs. i know steroids if done correctly will make your dog stronger and faster but at what cost? short term burst with long term side effects.

ok in this instance i agree with you pookie. if you were giving steroids to save the life of the animal....steroids are the way to go.

the work makes them faster and stronger steroids wont just make something out of nothing. its a pointless conversation though, too many like you, are steadfast in blind convictions.

Yea dont you have to work out and train still even though your taking steroids..? You dont just get all swole from taking a few shots lol you still have to put in the work or nothing will even be accomplished, am I right?

I am a slender runner female so I dont know much about steroids lol

the whole thing with steroids is really a media stir actually like how weed is. this is a clip from a documentary/movie bigger, faster, stronger . they combat the media hype around steroids. all i know is if you are up against big comp with the wages high to the sky youd better feel that they are using it than not rather to lose and suspect that they did. almost every record breaker in every sport used it to their benefits until caught lol even lance armstrong. id think that blood doping would be way more benificial to the dog if you were to go that route. by doing that the dog would have more like 3-6 times RBC's circulating in the body filled with that much more oxygen to hit the lungs and the body parts. try having that dog run out of air..........

Have you ever used anabolics/androgenics on yourself, or animals? Just answer that and if you can prove that you have, I'll continue the discussion. If you never have then moving forward with this with you would be a monumental waste of time. We get your point that you're against anabolic use. Nuff said.

but to be honest i personally have no personal experience with steroids on my body or in a dog. i just base it off of what i have heard about them in humans mostly from that documentary which is pretty good. if i was to use performance enhancers in a high energy sport i would choose blood doping over the usual performance enhancer like steroids. that way more RBC's would be greater than the comp and that would prevent muscle fatigue and gassing out.

I dont doubt that at all. I dont know enough to really make a decision and what I said could very well be completely wrong. At least I admit I dont know about it :D

I have seen people who use it and dont go all crazy with it, my ex used it when he was over in Afghanistan and he was fine and not different at all. Just to keep him busy while sitting in the shit hole place thats what they would do, and workout like mad, be strong and ready and come home safe. Nothing to bad really :)

Hey not to pry but what is that I put in bold? I havent ever heard that term before.. Just wondering

I am trying to learn and willing to learn, even if some would rather make childish comments and banter nonsensically and not learn or listen from people who know what they are talking about and obviously know more that said person..

Only directed at the € ;)

Pookie,
It's also called packing blood. It's when you remove blood from the animal and then remove the white blood cells and have a more concentrated level of red blood cell count and then transfuse the red packed blood back into the animal. It allows for greater aerobic capacity. Also, here is something that many people don't know, horses are able to run great distances at fast paces because they have the ability to increase red blood cell count when they exercise. Horses are fricken amazing in that sense. Anabolics will also increase red blood cell count, and certain anabolics are used for that type of therapy, i.e., to help out anemic patients.

Pookie, the problem that most people will run into when using anabolics/androgenics on their mutts is correct dosage, picking the most effective medicine, (BTW, there are tons of different ones available) as well as length of time and cycling off the meds with the use of other drugs to assist in allowing the dog to produce its own natural hormone. Anabolics/androgenics can be very effective, but time consuming to really understand the benefits that are gained. Down side is nominal if the person administering the drugs has an undertanding of the endocronology (how hormones affect the body).

A big problem is that it's almost impossible to determine if the stuff is really working, because I can bet just about anything that these people using the anabolics are not keeping track of exactly the amount of protein, carbs and fat that the dog is taking in. The only way to do that is to feed raw and weigh everything out and keep a log. Using the drugs for a keep and or a short recovery isn't really being honest as you may think it's helping, but unless you are doing it for an extended period , and I mean extended period, i.e., a year of more than you can never really know how effective the meds really are. This is because you have no base point to start with.

I wrote on another post that I thought you would be stupid to be using anabolics, and that's because most people will just not really take a good hard look and spend the time and money on doing it right with the most effective meds as well as diet and exercise to ensure that it's really making a positive change. BTW, if someone thinks they can properly gauge that it's help the dog recoup faster then that means they had to have put that dog through the exact same circumstances with the exact same variables to determine if it was worth it. And how someone does that honestly is with legit records of everything they did.

That is really cool! I never knew that, I dont know if I would do that with my dog but it seems like a legit thing and makes perfect sense and is kind of neat. I also didnt know that about horses, but yea they are amazing animals, and are just about as awe inspiring as a real game dog. Its neat how they evolved to do that, that is why they are super serious prey animals lol and are damn good at what they do!

Thank you so much for answering me, I like learning new things like that about what people do/did to improve the dogs ability, I wonder if people who race grey hounds do that or something similar? Seems like it would benefit their dogs as well..
