The other Day i was taking my PUPPY out ,on his leash, in the front yard to releive himself and the mailman was running his route.(The mailbox's our at our front doors here) And i noticed he walked out to the street instead of to my house, so i said, " no mail today huh?"...And he said "nope". i just replied," Good, That means no bills!" and he smiled and kept on proceeding to the neighbors house goin on with his job. But the mail came yesterday, and had PITBULL 12/31...Writin on all the mail. So there was mail, He was just scared (i assume) of an innocent little dog. It's stereo types like this, that really chap my ass.

Its something you learn to deal with. We are lucky, after a breif introduction my mailman likes my dogs. Sometimes thats all it takes is for the mailman to actually meet and pet the dogs.

Sadly with the breed you will always be faced with the negative stigmatism that acompanies owning them.

My mailman is 100% comfortable w/ my dogs........One day, I let them all sniff him and he petted them.....See if you can do that with the mailman....He has probably just heard all the bad crap about apbt and believes it....see if you can turn him into a lover...good luck

That's the nature of the beast called human, and to be honest it's in all of us in some forum or another, without personal reasons.Basing things on just what they hear,ColbyDogs is right and not just with dogs, look at how we treat others that we don't know, like driving down the road or anything.Treat ppl the same way ,you would want to be treated,oh but how that is easily forgotten.....our morals

well, He will be introduced today. Im waiting for the mailman. he should be here in an hour. Ima hafta stop him, and inform him that theese dogs are NOT what he has heard.
Maybe if i have my 3 year old holding the leash, he wont feel so intimidated.

I went to a house this morning (I install cable) got out of my truck and was confronted by by a newsmaker. He met me about half way across the yard barking and growling. I stopped and he stopped about 5' from me. The owner came out and the dog got worse circling me, I honestly thought he was gonna bite me in the a$$. This had me scared. He was probably 60lbs or so. The owner grabbed him and said "oh he won't hurt you he's just a baby". I told her if i had my tool belt on we'd have no more questions about it! It didn't take long for the fear to turn to anger. She told me he was 11mo and was abused and being used as a JYD. I tried to tell her she needed to properly restrain him for his and her own good to no avail though she wouldn't listen even after she told me that she spent 900$ at the vet when he was hit by a car. I hate to post negative things like this but these stupid owners and people working to make their dogs mean are the reason the stereotypes are there. That dog was 11 mo as I mentioned when he reaches maturity she's gonna have some serious problems.

Crap like this is a huge part of why we are facing BSL. Don't get me wrong, there is plenty of blame to go around but damn. That woman needs to learn a little something about dogs.
