Spoiled hamburger meat

I just found a 5 pound package of hamburger meat that was put in the outside fridge and forgotten about and about 3/4 of it is brown and i was wondering would it be safe to cook it and feed it to the dogs?? Not a big deal either way just would hate to throw it out if the mutts could eat it.

 

They can eat it. I feed them freezer burned meat all the time.

 

Thaw it out and feed it to them raw. You don't have to cook it.

The brown coloration is generally not spoilage, but is the blood in the meat turning brown due to being exposed to oxygen. I'd say something in the fridge for five days could go fine to the dogs. I dunno how long Budboy is talking about for his hamburger meat though... (by the way once it gets a greenish tinge that is a sign of spoiling for sure, wouldn't feed rotten meat to the dogs..).

also should I avoid giving to puppy as well or its ok for the little one also?

 

mine has eaten bad hamburger meat raw before (2 pounds of it, he got in the trash can) and was just fine. not even runny poo. should be just fine to feed raw

 

Well did ya feed it to them? About three years ago a buddy of mine had 35 pounds of buffalo burger he was gonna throw away because his fridge in his garage was off because of a tripped breaker. He was gone a couple of days and it was warm but not ruined smelling. I put it in my beergerater and fed it with no problems.

 

Pup last year killed and ate a wild rabbit and part of a goose. Coat never looked better.

 

Have you pet people forgot dogs are scavengers? If you died tomorrow, and your dogs were let loose they would survive? Yes. This is the main problem with people owning bulldogs period and how the world views the APBT. They are not human, they are animals. Even if it green, yellow, orange, brown and pink purple poka dots (the meat).

 

Dont cook it just throw it to em raw, although you aint said how far gone it is, or how long should i say lol

 

lol ive already picked it up out of the chainspots and thrown it in the woods thanks though.
