Some Info not too many People know

As I said I am originally from Germany. There are some things that has happened for years that I feel our Community should know. Alot of soldiers in the past (and I'm sorry to say this but mainly American soldiers) that were stationed in Germany would purchase APBTs; and when it comes time for them to PCS (transfer to a new duty station) instead of going thru getting their dog shipped to their next duty station (any dog would be quarintined for 30 days, was more back in the day) they would drive out on the Autobahn ( a major highway in Germany), pull over to the side of the road and tie their dog to a tree and leave them there to die . German Animal Shelters would cruise the Autobahn periodically for that reason and scoop the dogs up. Unlike here in the states, I know back then the Shelters would take the dogs in regardless if they were "fighting" dogs and take care of them and place them in responsible homes; and not put them to sleep.

Just something that I felt we all should know. Sad but very true . Now as far as nowadays, Germany has strict rules on owning APBTs partly because of what I said above and problems that the Germans have with the Turkish inhabitants....

 

:mad: that is too bad for the dogs but just another sad fact in pitdog history.

I wonder why they didn't just give to the local people there?
