social media out of control

Killer on the loose in my area.Killed 3 people and wounded anothef.Today makes a week since the man hunt started.Some folks are just retarted with the Facebook thing , posting false sightings of the suspect.I get a call close to midnight and its a elderly lady down the road a ways .She says she heard something in her yard and wanted me to come look so I do.Anyways I checked everything out and found nothing and as we started talking I realized she has Facebook and read a post that said the suspect had a wreck close to where we live.I kept my patience and hung around till she calmed down.Must have been 5 different false sightings on this guy last night.Murders happened about 60 miles south of me.Cops had to check every incident.Social media can be good I guess, but it can also be bad.
