how do u stop a group of radical especially if u have no knowledge of their plans? i dont know ur religion but ill use christans as an example. if a radical group blew up a abortion clinic should we view them all differently? of course not!

 

the fbi seems to be doing a decent job putting "radicals" in prison. they reward snitches all the time and innocent people are labeled terrorists because of some criminal that doesnt want to do their time. but you wont hear about this either.

 

Ground Zero should be kept as a rememberance garden. The mosque and cultural centre could be built in the same vacinity just not on that site.

 

It is funny how people have such strong feelings about something they barely understand.

1) This is not ON ground zero it is 2.5 blocks over (if you have been in NY you know 2.5 blocks is a distance that is jam packed with a huge amount of buildings and businesses) - from Ground Zero you cannot even SEE the property where the center would be.

2) There are other mosques that are currently just as close to ground zero as this place - you don't hear about them because it would make this story look less sensational

3) There is already a practicing mosque on this location, because they already own the property. This mosque was open and operational in the Burlington Coat factory even in 2009. Why wasn't it an issue before? Because sensational media and politicians saw the building of a new building as something they could hype up and whip people into a frenzy. Why didn't you hear people crying about the "victory mosque" before - it existed and was being actively used.

4) It is a community center not a mosque - I am sure there will be a place of worship with in it but it will also contain many other things. Quote: "It is meant to be a 13-story community center, like the YMCA (modeled after the 92nd St Y in Manhattan in fact), though it certainly will contain a decent sized worship/prayer space. But it will also have a restaurant, a pool, a basketball court, child-care center, and a 500-seat performing arts center."

If you were offended by the presence of this building years ago, then so be it and I respect your right to think that, but don't be a media tool and get whipped into a frenzy about something that already existed that you couldn't have cared less about until some politicians and newsmen put a spin on the story.

 

Perfect example of what I was saying - the media has spun this so full of lies that people actually BELIEVE it will be built where the Twin Towers fell. That could not be further from the reality of the situation. People do not even understand the story that they have such strong thoughts about!

 

I also won't even begin to get into the reality of what happened on 9/11 - but I will say this much, so many people in this thread are playing right into being what the government wants. Guess what folks - it is all an act, our governments hands are just as bloody as the terrorists in this situation. Do some research for yourself and you will be surprised what you learn when you stop sucking off the government teat as your source of "facts"

Guess what this "mosque" drama is just another step in the grand plan, and so far 90% of people are acting just as Uncle Sam wants.... you are just pawns guys.

 

people are mental... its not the muslims and other religions that you need to be worried about, its the crroked individuals right here in the united states of america that are taking part in the plans that lead up to terrorist acts from different countries. do your research and you will know what im taking about. it is easy for the media to control people because they believe everything they see and hear on the news when the sh!t is edited to taste bitter to us so that we will have these opinions of certain people and or religions... people need to use their I.Q.s to their advantage and pay attention to more than just the news.

Yup its pretty fucked up.You guys can get all technical if you want,but its just a principal thing,something that shouldn't be allowed to happen out of respect.Just think how it would make you feel if your family was in those buildings.I mean come on, they can't build it some where else?

I literally just posted that it is a myth that the building will be at Ground Zero and pointed out that from Ground Zero you will not even be able to SEE the building, and right after that someone posts about it being in the "shadow of ground zero".

PS. I don't think it is the extremist Muslims that will benefit from building a family center LOL. Yup, those suicidal extremists totally love to take their children out to play a good game of basketball at a family activity club...... ROFL.

BTW, extremists might have committed the act Peppa, but we trained and financed them right here in our own country KNOWING who they were. Our gov could have stopped 9/11 before it ever happened, just like they could have stopped Pearl Harbor - but instead they saw exactly what they could get from it, a way to fill us with bullshit propaganda, whip us into a frenzy, then take away our Constitutionally granted rights and freedoms in the name of "preserving freedom". James - the fact of the matter is though that this is NOT something new. As I pointed out before they have owned this building and used it as a center and mosque for years, now that they want to tear down and rebuild the building you have the news spinning it to sound like this is some new issue.

Like I said in my first post, if you knew about this building before and were offended by it - I give upmost respect to your opinion. If you suddenly care about it now just because the tv tells you too, you are just being used as a tool and I cannot give respect to that.

If i was aware of it before,i would feel the same way.But honestly im nowhere near that area,and i don't keep up with current events.So the only reason i know about it is because of the news.I wasn't aware of the one that already existed.But let me ask you this,if there gonna tear it down and build a new one,wouldn't this be a good time to move it?

I just feel its disrespectful to the people who died.And our weak,poor excuse for a president will just stand by and let it happen.I bet the "muzzys" (as peppa calls them) are getting a great laugh outta all this.I think its more a moral thing,and morally it just seems fucked up to me.
