I personally think its very insensitive, if it were to go ahead and if anything, I think it will cause more animosity towards Muslims.

"assertion of Islamist triumphalism" ......i can see what he means there.scary times ahead me thinks.and if the most powerful man in the world is a moderate muslim and not caring for the thoughts of the victims/families of 9/11.....well....what hope is there!!

well being a soldier and a student at the army language/cultural school, this is only going to result in something bad happening. this is muslims tryin to jam their religion down our throats. kind of like they are doing in europe. there is nuthing wrong with muslims. but when they go an do something like this, it sends a message to the muslim world of a fight against the west. as a country we cannot stand for this.

Aside from rebuilding the temple this is the single most insanely ridiculously stupid idea in the entire galaxy.

The Christians, etc. constantly molest children. I do not care for the whole Muslim thing, however we live in a free country.

The 3,000 plus people (RIP) who died was not the terrorist act.

Terror: "violence (as bomb throwing) commited by groups in order to intimidate a population, or government into granting their demands."

All of the rights that we lost because of it, that was the is the terrorist act.

Doesnt matter what religion they are of... they can build a mosque wherever the fk they want. They don't need to be sensitive to your feelings as long as they are not violating your rights.

Christians are constantly jamming their religion down my throat, i aint crying. Knocking on my door early in the morning, putting shit in my mailbox, all types of shit that muslims and ppl of other religions do not do.

You guys are fucked up in the head. This is a slap in the face. Al queada or however it's spelled is Muslim. I personally don't want them puttin their shit up down the street from where they killed 3,000 American lives. If anyone of you fuckers had a family member in one of those builings you'd be singing a different tune.

Yeah, I probably would feel differently. But having a family member killed shouldnt change my feelings about individuals rights. I don't feel like I should pick and choose which constitutional right to defend. If a black dude shoots someone in my family, It shouldnt give me the right to decide that blacks should no longer be able to live in my neighborhood. To me, its no different then when a dog kills someone and cuz of it they wanna take away peoples rights to own em. Yeah, its a terrible thing... but you shouldnt restrict the rights of others because of it. Because some muslims commited acts of violence on that day... there is also millions of muslims who were living peacefully in this country at the same time. Their rights shouldn't be restricted.

For example... there are tons of Bosnian refugees here in america and especially in michigan. They are muslim... eastern european muslims who came here because they were being killed off...genocide in their own country. Should these muslims rights be restricted because of what happened on 9/11? They've come here to escape violence and be free men and women.

:) I'm a biggot.............I can't just say how I really feel. I'll just put it mildly. Fuck em all. Guilty by association. Line em up, lay em down, let God sort em out.

    LOL
a lot of people are. I grew up around diverse group of people, know people that are muslim, got bosnian friends that are muslim.

they just like me and you only difference is they've been victims of ethnic cleansing, christians killing their babies, raping their wives, killing their children and elderly. Yet they live here peacefully amongst christians and everything else... just trying to peice their life back together.

Freedom of religion is a great concept, obviously.......but for those that lost their loved ones will want a place that they can go to and mourn their loss. Is it fair that they have to see a Mosque which is, basically the religion that was used as an EXCUSE and basis of 9/11?
I know many Muslims and as a whole they are a compassionate religion, but like any other religion you will find the extremists and fundamentalists that will use a religion to justify their actions.
I personally think no one is saying they should be denied the right to practice their religion in a Mosque of their choice, they are free to build their Mosque elsewhere, but in the hope that there is still some compassion for the families that lost their loved ones who cant change where their loved ones died, I would hope Muslims and the Government would take this into account and ask for the Mosque to be built elsewhere.

i think you will find children are molested in all walks of life.but in islamic countries its the norm to marry 13 year old girls.and how the fuck can you say flying a plane into a building in order to kill innocents to make the west bow to extreme islam is not terrorism??....twat.

id rather have shit put through my door than have a plane in my front window or being beheaded on video or stoned to death or a bomb on my bus or a bomb on my train.hell of a lot easier to clean up the carnage of shit than cleaning that carnage.:rolleyes:

I personally didnt lose anyone in 9/11 but I can only imagine thats how they will feel if this Mosque is built so close to Ground Zero.
