the .357 sig round has always been obviously destructive, i just wish that round would been recieved better, i might have switced from the 9mm. sh*tloads of power, huge wound cannel, plus extremely reliable feeding due to the bottleneck design? why isnt it more popular?

We're content. We have money in our pockets and food on the table. People may say that many people don't, but our poverty level would live like kings in other countries. It was once said that Stalin went into a room with his advisers holding a chicken. He plucked out the feathers of the chicken and it ran from him. Stalin then reached into his pocket and pulled out some kernels. The chicken came back to eat them. Stalin then said that people are much like chickens. You can do anything to them and as long as there is food, they'll always come back.

went to Scheels in DM yesterday and picked up a new one. the Walther PPS in 9mm
comes with a 7 rd mag with a pinky extension(only one mag included) so i bought a flush mount 6 rounder also,(for a total of $700+) id looked at em once before, and even tho they are kinda ugly, this little pistol fits my hand like a dream. alotta fellas i chat with on other forums have put away their baby Glocks and Kahrs in favor of em, so i decided to give it a try. by far the slimmest 9mm pistol ive ever seen, 1.04 of an inch wide:eek:

i'll get some rounds downrange with it when it warms up and i'll let yall know if its as reliable as they say it is.

this morning, 100 rounds of winchester white box FMJ stuff, and probably 50 more of silvertip/hydra-shok assortment. 100% reliabiliy and all i did was put a couple drops of oil on the rails. shoots real easy, and suprisingly accurate with all ive tried in it so far.
i did spare it from the +P+ hydra shoks, the manual stated +P is fine, but NO +P+ ammo :(

woody - i've carried a g19 for years now. went to the gun store and was near sold on the walther pps 9mm (nota fan of .40). my wife was there and it fit her hand even better than her revolver without the pinky extension. i found two there for 535 + tax each and i am thinking it's worth the purchase. you and i seem to think along similar lines about a few things (guns and dogs) so i wanted to see if you've put any more rounds through it. any misfires, jams, etc. i've convinced the wife she wants one of those for the home (she still likes that her revolver can never fail so that'll stay in her handbag) and that i'd like one to carry, a bit more concealable. the only draw back in my opinion is the low cap mags, but that plays into it being so ungodly thin. it felt a like a toy. lemme know. thx.

ive put 350+ thru it now, and while i dont consider it broke in yet, no ftf/fte right out of the box, so im happy. i joined a walther forum for advice and was told to keep it VERY well lubed for the break in (sounds like some folks were running it pretty dry and then bitching about hiccups), so its a sloppy mess now. due to the tolerances, this pistol is tight as hell outta the box. its choice load, the 147 gr hydra shok, (not sure how well that bullet will perform with a 3.2 " bbl tho) at standard pressure seems wicked accurate. i'll shoot for groups after a couple hundred more rounds, make sure it doesnt choke when ran with less oil/grease and then decide if i need to order some leather for it. ive been told galco makes a real nice open top belt holster for it, the "stinger" i think, and as of right now i wouldnt feel bad reccomending it to someone, especially for that price.

some pics of the new Walther PPQ pistol form the 2011 SHOT show. their previous flagship pistol, the P99, (also available in 9mm and 40 S&W)
is the Glock pistol of Europe and known for its accuracy. im betting i ll like the PPQs improved grip design, looks H&Kish

one of their newer pistols (the PPS) went thru some tweaking after it hit the market, but nothing requiring a recall, it actually seemed to be partially due to operator error. they were being sent back for FTF FTE due to the fact that new owners didnt realize just how oill/greasy they need to be for the break-in period or they will choke, and also because of what people were calling magazine quality, so Walther has announced you'll need to load one less round in the mag for the first couple hundred rounds. stout springs, problem solved. there always is gonna be bugs to work out in a new design, but i dont think QC has had anything to do with the very few problems the PPS has had.

my new one has continued to impress and i plan on picking up the new PPQ as well.
