and there are subjects with a prominence of skin a lot more abundant than this... some dogs are so hyper-typezed that they can barely see...

 

it's the week mindedness of the judges & the conformity of the folks breeding & showing dogs that messed up a lot of breeds.

 

Exactly, it's not the show that messed up anything, it was breeders more focused on judges opinion than the quality of theyre line. Ramseys Buford got first place in an adba show. No slacking in quality there.

 

Breed timeline sets ...they were ok, run-up real quick for some folks ...by me. I'd forgotten they were still on my hosting space...

 

Quite honestly I could give 2 shits about any of the other breeds in the pics above, but the APBT comparison is downright laughable. Putting up all the pics of the turd bullies like that is what the breed has turned into is 100% retarded LOL

your exactlly right. our breed has stayed the same for the last hundred plus years. our dogs apearance hasnt changed like any of those other breeds mentioned. if you say they turned bully then ok, but we all dont count those as APBT. blame the UKC and other pretty dog fanatics registries for those dogs apearances. in todays world though you cant really test these dogs like that anymore some say hog hunting hmmmmmmm not realy fun TO watch yes, but no.. if you breed a line true to its working history you will still have their genetics in there apearance wise..and fuck it i will say im not going to jail, so i will be happy with a game breed apearance rather than a bogus bully...........................IMO

I'm new to this forum and I am enjoying reading the topics...
I own a Red & White KC Stafford who is 16.5 inches to the shoulder and weighs about 38lbs, he is very fit and athletic. I thought with the dogs of old bred for the sport of dog fighting it didn't matter how the dog looked as long as it was game in the pit so I don't understand why you say the kc dog doesn't look right?
Could someone please explain this

Because when the standard was changed and they started to look like kegs with short legs, they weren't as athletic anymore.

But from what I've seen not all show staffs are short legged and too bully, there is a wide range of types even around the show ring and when they drew up the breed standard wasn't it the dog men of old that decided on what was the right balance for the breed?
