Yeah I thought they were to be breed for gameness.lol.. I am of the opinion that a gamey dog can show well. if people will remember these dog went into keeps man these dogs were ripped before they went into a SHOW. I my opinion the way there looked right before they went into a PRE76 show is the way they show look when showing. Now Some dogs IMO looked Amaciated I am not talking about that look. I am talking about how Chinaman, zebo, haunch, Cren Jeep, pedro just to name a few looked. Those are real pitbulls to me. See we are heading into the same direction that the bully breeders did....

Just because I want my dog to look like the dog's in the Pre 76 era at a dog show doesnt mean that I am a dog fighter.
Just cause I like Dodges and Chargers doesnt mean that I wanna be Richard petty..lol

Personally I like to see a dog "come to life" in the ring. It is a characteristic of the breed. I have heard judges say..."The dog looked real good...just didn't have any spark" a good TRUE judge has to take that "spark" into consideration. The dog should be alert to another dog so close to him....THATS what they were bred for. Don't get me wrong I don't want to see full on chomper mode...just interest!!!!;)

  5. I agree... I love a dog with some spirit in the ring. I can handle a fired up dog and perfer one that is fired up. I do have one that is just the opposite...like she was slipped a qualude or something. BORING!!! There are lots of "gamey dogs" that are cup & trophy winners. To each his own on what they like to show. I love a dog that looks like Jeep, Floyd, & Chinaman. They were beautiful!!! Ripped Out!!!:)

I agree, except for the full on chomper mode. i have several dogs and they are in full blown chomper mode if they get even too close to each other and they are within eyesight of each other all day long every day. Thats the only reason I haven't taken any of these dogs i have now to any confo shows yet.

Some like a little flame, i like a raging wildfire:D

I like my dogs to show life in the ring. My dog shows more interest in the judge than the other dogs, but it's at least evident that he's alive.

I really don't like dogs who do a lot of posturing and display threats to every dog they see. I prefer a quiet dog who is confident enough in himself to know he doesn't need to be acting a fool at every God-given moment.

Thats the best thing said in this thread! And you know why, Cause a dog that does that knows the bizness already and he/she aint gotta ACT a fool, for what? To get tired. LOL!

Now as I said before, I called Stopbsl's MushMouth best in show out of a group of about 20-25 dogs before the Judge had even made his way around the ring. Next thing you know MushMouth has a nice big trophy to pose in front of. Not saying I'm a judge or anything like that, but you just gotta know what your looking at to be able to identify with it. The judge knew his stuff and was able to Identify with real bulldogs, It's one thing to see pics of bulldogs but it's another thing to "see" them. BTW, I didn't show one dog at that show, but If I would have MushMouth still would have won. Thanks GSD for saying what you typed.

my dogs are alright for a certain distance. they will be on alert and show alot of "interest" but if another dogs get to close then pretty sure ill be asked to leave lol. i dont even attempt to put myself in that situation

I don't know what is the most painful part of that video: watching the dogs run, watching the dogs fall off the sleeve or watching the dogs be run off the field. Pitiful.
