I give it below average for the caliber of fighter they pushed her as. She is good at what she does and that's on the ground. She generates no power in her punches.

Yeah, i agree, her stand up is trash, always has been. I always said one will come along that will stuff her throws and take downs and knock her out. Happened twice now. Other fighters have found a way to avoid her throw/take downs and exposed her, just like Conors ground game was exposed.

I don’t see MMA as a perfected combat sport..competitive, impressively trained and dedicated warrior/athletes of course. Or is it?

Certainly the diversity and clash of fighting disciplines often makes for interesting viewing..the allure I suppose. This match was an illustration.

Some stray voltage in recent sports media, referencing a loose comparison of Colin McGregor to Floyd Mayweather in terms of respective MMA/boxing dominance, success.

    Not even close.

Is it possible there will ever be a Roberto Duran equivalent within MMA? Or by MMA definition/evolving rules, not possible...irrelevant?

The glory days of MMA are long gone. Things changed and the sport evolved. Then Dana ran it in the ground trying to take the sport somewhere else, more WWF-ish. More about the drama/hype than the fights and fighters. Either way, new fighters will always come in with more talent, hungrier, younger and better trained. Perfect example was this fight. Rhonda's style was outdated and she fell behind by not working on her stand up and relying only on take downs and submissions, that shit don't work anymore with any skilled fighter these days.
