Has anyone here ever used this: just before hitting the road, wet the pads, dip the pads in flour then add the tough coat pad toughner? I hear it's like rubber cement. I've tried a ton of pad toughners and when doing miles of roadwork, the ground prevails!

When I'm out biking her I always on the edge of the sidewalk this way she is running on the grass where available, much easier on her. Find a route that has dirt or something softer than concrete. As for the OP not sure what type of roadworks u doing but do it gradually.

I'm doing roadwork on asphalt 40% until we make it to the football field and have grass to work in.

The flour method is holding up.

I have had dogs take several keeps on asphault and concrete without ever tearing a pad. I think it comes down to the conformation of the dog. In my experience dogs with good confo dont tear their pads. If the dog has feet problems like being flat footed or something then they tear unprotected pads more often. On the other had i use happy jack pad toughener and have never had a dog tear a pad while using this in the keep.
